Okay, so I was messing around with this “New York White Hat” thing today. It sounded cool, and I wanted to see what it was all about.

First, I started by just poking around online. I typed in “New York White Hat” and browsed through a bunch of results. Seemed like it had something to do with ethical hacking and cybersecurity, which is kinda interesting to me.
My Little Experiment
- Figured out it’s about finding weaknesses in computer systems, but in a good way, like to help companies make things more secure.
- Tried to find some simple examples of what these “white hat” folks actually do.
- Found a few basic tutorials online, nothing too crazy.
- I didn’t do anything, don’t worry, it will cause real damage, only understand some theoretical operations.
So, I spent a couple of hours just reading and watching some videos. I learned that these guys use all sorts of tools to test systems, like, looking for open ports or outdated software. Stuff that a bad guy could use to break in.
Then I decided to look for some, uh, “challenges” online. Just to see if I could understand the basics. I found some websites that had these little puzzles, like, find the hidden code or figure out how to get past a fake login screen. It was kinda fun, like a game, but it also showed how easy it could be for someone to mess with a website if it wasn’t built right.
I didn’t actually “hack” anything, of course! Just played around with these safe, practice sites. It was more about understanding the thinking process, like, how would a hacker try to get in, and what could I do to stop them if it was my website?
It was a pretty interesting day. I definitely got a better idea of what “New York White Hat” is all about. It’s not just about breaking into stuff, it’s about protecting it. And it’s way more complicated than I thought!
