Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “melo tee” thing popping up everywhere, and I finally decided to give it a shot. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure what it was at first – some kind of trendy drink? A new clothing brand? Turns out, it’s a super simple way to make a refreshing iced tea.

First, I gathered my stuff. You really don’t need much:
- A melon (I used cantaloupe because that’s what I had)
- Black tea bags (I just used the regular Lipton ones)
- Water
- Some sweetener (I used honey, but sugar or whatever works)
- Ice, obviously
Making the Magic Happen
I started by brewing the black tea. I made it pretty strong, like double the usual amount of tea bags, because it’s gonna get diluted later. While the tea was steeping, I chopped up the melon into small chunks. No need to be fancy, just get it into bite-sized pieces.
Once the tea was done, I took out the tea bags and let it cool down a bit. You don’t want to put hot tea on ice, it’ll just melt everything. While it’s cooling find a good size container that can hold it all, I used one from an old protein container I had cleaned out, which seemed to be perfect for holding it all.
Next, I added the melon chunks. I stirred in my honey until it was all dissolved. Make sure to add enough to get your desired sweetness.
Finally, I filled my container with ice and added the black tea. I stirred to combine everything and distribute the flavor a bit. This helps to cool down the tea even more.

And that’s it! Seriously, it’s that easy. The melon gives the tea this amazing, subtle sweetness and the whole thing is just super refreshing. I’ve been drinking it non-stop since I made it. It’s way better than any store-bought iced tea I’ve ever had. Definitely give this a try if you’re looking for a simple, tasty drink for the summer!
