Alright, so, “manchester minecraft”… Let me tell you about this little project I messed around with. I’ve been playing Minecraft for, like, forever, and I’m also pretty fascinated by real-world places. So, I got this idea: Why not try to build a bit of Manchester in Minecraft?

First, I spent some time just looking at pictures and maps of Manchester. You know, getting a feel for the place. I focused on the city center, mostly. Figuring out what buildings were iconic and recognizable, that kind of thing.
Then, I fired up Minecraft and started a new world. I picked a “flat” world type, ’cause I didn’t want to deal with mountains and stuff while I was trying to lay things out.
- Finding the right blocks was the next step. I needed something that looked like red brick, for a lot of the buildings.
- The stone blocks I used for some of the older, more grand buildings.
- And, of course, lots and lots of glass for the modern stuff.
I began with some of the bigger landmarks. I think I started with the Town Hall. It’s this huge, gothic-looking building. That took a while, I’m not gonna lie. Getting all those details right, the spires and arches… Man, that was a challenge.
After the Town Hall, I moved on to some other places, like the Beetham Tower and some general streets. It is so tall and I spent hours to make it.

It’s definitely not perfect, my Manchester in Minecraft. It’s more like a simplified, blocky version. But, it’s been a fun way to, I don’t know, connect with a place I find interesting, in a game I love. I added some detail about the street, I think it is very important, and It is a cool way to build a memory.
