Okay, so I wanted to figure out which college baseball teams were, like, the absolute best ever. You know, the ones that everyone talks about. It wasn’t as simple as I thought it’d be!

First, I just started searching, typing stuff like “best college baseball teams ever” into the search bar. I got a bunch of lists, some from sports websites, some from blogs, and even some old forum posts. It was kinda overwhelming, honestly.
Then I started writing down the teams that kept popping up. It felt like every list had, for example, the USC Trojans from the early 70s. And a lot of them mentioned those Arizona State teams from way back when. I used my little notebook, just jotting everything down – team name, year, and any cool facts I found.
Making Sense of it All
- I realized I needed to organize things. So, I created a simple spreadsheet, nothing fancy. Just columns for the Team, Years they were great, and any Notes about why they were so good.
- I started plugging in the info from my notebook. This is where it got interesting. I started to see patterns. Some teams, like I said, were always on these lists. Others were only mentioned once or twice.
- And after I had some info filled in, I got into the details. For example, seeing many of the articles mentioned how many College World Series titles a particular school had.
It took a while, going back and forth between the lists and my spreadsheet, but I finally felt like I had a good handle on it. My list isn’t perfect, of course. It’s just based on what I could find, and everyone has their own opinions. But it’s a solid start, and it was a fun little project!
