Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “Korean ring girl” videos popping up all over my feed, and I got curious. I mean, who doesn’t want to look effortlessly chic? So, I decided to give it a shot and see if I could pull off the look.

First, I scoured the internet for some inspiration. I looked at a bunch of pictures and videos, trying to figure out what exactly makes a “Korean ring girl” a “Korean ring girl”. It seemed like a combination of things: a very specific kind of makeup, the way the hair, and of course, the outfit plays a big part.
Makeup Time!
Next up, I decided to try and get my make up like I saw in the images and videos.
- I started with my usual base,a very light foundation and some concealer under my eyes.
- I noticed that a lot of emphasis is on a good skin.
- Then I did a very, very subtle contour. Like, barely there.
- Eyeshadow was super simple – just a wash of a light, shimmery color all over the lid.
- The key seemed to be the eyeliner. I tried to do a thin line, extending it out just a tiny bit for a slight wing. I messed this up like five times, but eventually got something that looked okay.
- Mascara, of course. Lots of it.
- For lips, I went with a pinky-nude lipstick and added a bit of gloss in the center for that plump look.
- I tried to do that “aegyo-sal” thing, where you highlight under your eyes to make them look puffy.I think I failed miserably.
Hair and Outfit
For hair, I saw that lots of them have that classic, straight, with maybe a slight wave at the ends.
I have straight hair and tried to get the bangs to part just right, but they kept flopping in my face.

As I did not have a outfit that was exactly like the images, I improvised with what I had in my closet.
- I found a black mini dress that was the right kind of simple and elegant.
- I found a pair of simple heels.
- I put on a cute necklace.
The Verdict
After I put the look together, I looked in the mirror and I don’t know, I didn’t exactly look like those girls in the videos, but I definitely felt…different. More put-together, maybe? It was fun to try something new, even if it wasn’t a total transformation.I took some pictures, then washed all the makeup off and put my pajamas back on.
It was a fun experiment, I might try it again sometime, maybe with a different outfit or when I’ve gotten better at doing my makeup. But for now, I’m happy to just be me, messy hair and all.
