This here talk is all about them quarterbacks, you know, them fellas that throw the ball in that football game. We gonna chew the fat ’bout two of ’em: one’s called Baker Mayfield, other one’s Derek Carr. Who’s the better one, you ask? Well, let’s get down to brass tacks and see what’s what.
Baker Mayfield, That Young Fella
Now, this Baker Mayfield, he’s a feisty one, ain’t he? He’s that guy, always got somethin’ to prove. He’s been around the block a few times, playin’ for different teams. I heard folks say he plays with a chip on his shoulder. Whatever that means.
- He throws the ball real hard, that Baker does.
- Sometimes he runs with it, too. Keeps them other fellas guessin’.
- Some folks say he’s got a big mouth, though. Gets him in trouble sometimes, I reckon.
He ain’t won no Super Bowl yet, but he’s still young, that Baker Mayfield. Got plenty of time to make a name for himself. Or maybe not, who knows with these young’uns these days.
Derek Carr, The Other One
Then there’s this Derek Carr fella. He’s been playin’ for a while now, too. Seems like he’s always been with that one team, the Raiders or somethin’ like that, but now he went somewhere else. I don’t keep up with all that movin’ around. Too much for this old brain to handle.
- He’s a steady one, that Derek Carr. Don’t get too high, don’t get too low, just kinda there.
- Throws the ball pretty good, I suppose. Gets it where it needs to go most of the time.
- Don’t see him runnin’ around too much. He likes to stay in that little pocket thing they make for him.
This Derek Carr, he’s been in the league a long time, but don’t think he’s won no championships either. Maybe he ain’t got that fire in his belly like that Baker. Or maybe he’s just more chilled, you know. Some folks like that.
Who’s Better? Well, Shoot…
Now you’re askin’ the million-dollar question, ain’t ya? Which one of these fellas is better? Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr? It’s like askin’ which kind of pie is better, apple or peach. Depends on what you like, I reckon.
If you like that excitement, that up-and-down, never-know-what-you’re-gonna-get kinda thing, then maybe that Baker Mayfield is your guy. He’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, that’s for sure. Might drive you crazy, too, but some folks like that.
But if you like things a little more calm, a little more predictable, then maybe that Derek Carr is more your speed. He ain’t gonna make too many waves, just gonna do his job, day in and day out. Nothin’ wrong with that, is there?
Some of those fancy football experts, they got all sorts of numbers and charts and things they look at. They call ’em “stats.” They say these stats tell you who’s better. Well, maybe they do, and maybe they don’t. I think it’s more than just numbers. That fire I said before, that counts for something. How a player acts when he loses, that counts too.
It’s All About What You Like
These two, Baker Mayfield and Derek Carr, they’re both good at throwin’ that football. They both get paid a lot of money to do it, that’s for sure. More money than I’ll ever see in my lifetime, that’s for dang sure.
So, which one’s better? You gotta decide that for yourself. Watch ’em play, see what you think. Don’t let nobody tell you who you should like. It’s like pickin’ a favorite color. Ain’t no right or wrong answer. Just what you like.
I heard some folks talk about fantasy football. They pick the players and pretend they own them. If you do that, you will have to decide to start Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr. That’s hard, I don’t know. Just choose the one you think will do more good that day, I guess.
One thing I know, both of them better watch out for that Jackson fella. I heard he beat that Mayfield many times. Six to two, I heard! That is a lot. He must be a good one, that Jackson. These football players, they are strong and fast. I am glad I don’t have to play with them. They would run me over!
In the end, it don’t really matter who’s better. They both play football, they both get paid. We get to watch ’em, and that’s all that matters. So, next time you see these fellas on that TV screen, just remember what this old lady told ya: It ain’t all about the numbers. It’s about the heart, and the grit, and the gumption. And maybe a little bit of luck, too. And that is all there is to say about Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr.
