Okay, here is my sharing about how I created custom icons for Armored Core 6.

So, I’ve been diving deep into Armored Core 6 lately, and you know what’s been bugging me? The icons, man, they are a little boring. I mean, the game is awesome, the mechs are sick, but the icons? Meh. So, I decided, “Screw it, I’m gonna make my own.”
First thing I did was, I hopped into the game’s garage. You gotta go to this “AC DESIGN” section, it’s where you pimp your mech, you know? Then I saw this option called “IMAGE EDIT”. Boom! That’s the golden ticket.
Once I clicked that, I was like a kid in a candy store. You can basically create your own emblems here, from scratch. I mean, the tools are pretty basic, like, no fancy Photoshop stuff, but it’s enough to get the job done.
Creating My First Icon
- Brainstorming:
First I tried to think what kind of emblem I wanted. Something cool, something that screams “badass”. I sketched some ideas on a napkin, like a true artist, haha. Finally, I went with a skull with some gears around it.
- Starting from scratch:
The IMAGE EDIT has some preset shapes, like circles and squares, but I wanted something unique. So, I started playing around with the freehand tool. It was a bit clunky at first, but I got the hang of it.
- Layering it up:
This was the fun part. I started adding layers, like a digital onion, haha. I drew the skull first, then added the gears separately. It’s important to use different layers so you can adjust things easily.
- Colors and details:
Once I had the basic shape down, I started playing with colors. I wanted something that popped, so I went with a bright red for the skull and a metallic gray for the gears. Then I added some little details, like cracks on the skull and some highlights on the gears.
After I messed around, I finally got something I liked. A skull with some crossbones. Pretty basic, but hey, it’s mine. I saved it, and then, the best part, I set it as my icon.
Now, when I’m blasting fools online, they see my custom icon, and they know what’s up. It’s like, “Yeah, I’m a badass, and I’m not afraid to show it.” You can also slap these emblems on your mech as decals. It is like giving it a custom paint job.
Honestly, it’s way more fun than it sounds. It is like being a digital artist, but for your giant robot. I spent hours just messing around with different designs. I even made a few for my friends, just for kicks. Creating custom icons is the most exciting part I tried in this game.

So yeah, if you’re playing Armored Core 6, and you’re bored with the default icons, give this a shot. It’s a great way to kill some time and make your mech truly your own. I made it, and so can you! Go try it!
