Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with different putters lately, trying to find that magic wand, you know? And I stumbled upon these Olson Golf putters. Heard some whispers about them being pretty sweet, so I figured, why not?

First off, I went to check them out. I looked them up online and tried to contact some local golf shops, trying to see if they had one I could test. Turns out, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill, off-the-shelf putters. More like, crafted with passion, and you must communicate with them directly. No problem.
I finally got my hands on one. It was a customized order. They talked with me about what I wanted and what would be best for my putting style. The waiting time was around 4 weeks. I think it was worth the wait.
Now, the fun part – actually using it. I took it out to the putting green, and man, the first thing I noticed was the feel. So solid. Like, you really feel connected to the ball. It’s not mushy, but it’s not super hard either. Just right, at least for me.
- First round: I played a quick 9 holes, just to get a feel for it. Sank a few longer putts than I usually do. Maybe it was the putter, maybe it was just a good day. I don’t know.
- Second round: Played a full 18. This time, I was paying more attention to the putter. Short putts felt automatic. Longer ones, I was lagging them closer. Still getting used to the weight, but it felt good.
- Third round: Okay, now I’m starting to think this thing is legit. My putting definitely improved. I was making putts I would have two-putted before. My buddies were even noticing.
The Verdict (so far)
I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but I’m really liking this Olson putter. My confidence on the greens is way up. Is it a miracle worker? Probably not. But it’s definitely a step up from what I was using before. I’m going to keep playing with it, keep practicing, and see if it holds up in the long run. But, yeah, so far, so good.
If you’re in the market for a new putter and you’re tired of the same old stuff, maybe give Olson a look. They’re not cheap, but they might just be worth it. I will keep you guys posted on how it goes. This could be a game-changer for me.
