Alright, so today I’m gonna break down my experience with this whole “Alex Pereira walking weight” thing. I saw some stuff online, you know, about how he cuts weight and then blows back up, and I was curious. Not that I’m fighting anyone anytime soon, but hey, always good to learn something new, right?
First off, I started digging around. I mean, Pereira walks around HEAVY. Saw some numbers floating around – like he’s gotta hit 205 for his fights, but then he’s walking around at like 230 or something crazy. That’s a LOT of weight to cut and then put back on. I wanted to see how he did it, and if there was anything I could apply to my own, uh, less intense weight fluctuations.
So, I started by adjusting my diet. Not like I was gonna go full Pereira, but I figured cutting back on the junk and upping the protein was a good start. Did a little research into what fighters eat during fight week and the rehydration process. Mostly just focused on lean meats, veggies, and cutting out processed stuff. I didn’t want to go too crazy. I didn’t want to end up like those bodybuilders, just looking for something that i can maintain easily.
Next, I started tracking my weight more consistently. Weighed myself every morning, just to get a baseline and see how my body reacted to the diet changes. I usually don’t bother with this but it gives me great insights on what to expect if I ever feel like gaining a few pounds, or shredding them. I was surprised how much it fluctuated day-to-day, even without making huge changes.
I also tried to incorporate some of the things I read about his training. Things about how kickboxers use their body and keep their balance, so I started focusing on footwork drills and balance exercises. Nothing too intense, just some simple stuff I could do at home. Looked goofy as hell, but hey, gotta start somewhere.
Now, the rehydration part. I didn’t do anything too extreme, but I did try to pay more attention to my water intake, especially after workouts. Added some electrolytes here and there, just to see if it made a difference. To be honest, I didn’t notice a HUGE change, but I definitely felt more energized.
What did I learn? Well, Pereira is a beast, and his weight-cutting routine is probably tailored specifically to him and his sport. I’m not about to start drastically cutting weight, but it was interesting to see how a pro athlete manages his body. I will say tracking my weight and focusing on diet definitely made me feel better overall.
In the end, it was a fun little experiment. I gained a better understanding of how my body works, and I picked up a few healthy habits along the way. So, yeah, that’s my take on the “Alex Pereira walking weight” thing. Take it with a grain of salt, I’m just some guy trying to learn something new!
