Well, well, well, look at this here Evan Carter fella. They say he’s gonna be somethin’ big in that baseball game. I heard folks talkin’, sayin’ he’s with the Texas Rangers. Rangers, huh? Sounds tough, like them cowboys out on the range. This boy, Evan, they’re makin’ all sorts of guesses, these Evan Carter projections, about what he’s gonna do. They’re callin’ it “projections”. Fancy word for guessin’, I reckon.
They got lists, long lists, of all these fellas playin’ ball. Top 300, they say! My goodness, that’s a heap of players. And this Evan Carter, he’s somewhere on that list. They got it all sorted out too, by where they play on the field. Catcher, first base, second base, shortstop, third base, all them outfield spots. Even the pitchers, they got ’em all listed out. It’s a whole lot to keep up with if you ask me. I hear them say, “Should I draft Evan Carter?” Oh honey, I don’t know about no drafting. I just know about drafting chickens!
And then they got another list, somethin’ about the American League. Baltimore, they mention that name a lot. Must be another team, like them Texas Rangers. Baseball, baseball, baseball. That’s all these young folks talk about these days. Back in my day, we didn’t have time for all this sport. Too busy workin’ the farm. Now, I hear the name, “Jackson Holliday Fantasy Outlook.” Oh, another one, huh? This Holliday fella, they say he’s the “top prospect” for Baltimore. Whatever that means.
They got this thing called “fantasy baseball.” It’s like a make-believe game, I suppose. They pick these players and make up their own teams. It’s all a bit silly to me, but it keeps ’em entertained, I guess. This Evan Carter, he’s a big deal in this fantasy baseball thing too. They got numbers and stats and all sorts of things that don’t make a lick of sense to me. They even check the “latest fantasy news.” I just check the weather, myself.
I saw somethin’ about “injury updates” for this Evan Carter. Hope the boy’s alright. Playin’ ball can be rough on the body. Lots of runnin’ and jumpin’ and throwin’. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. Best thing is to just keep yourself healthy and strong. Eat your greens, that’s what I always say.
They got this other thing called “numberFire.” Sounds like some kinda tool you’d use in the field. But no, it’s somethin’ about numbers and guessin’ and all that. They use it to figure out who’s gonna be good in this fantasy baseball. They say they use “quantitative analysis.” Well, ain’t that just a mouthful? I just use my eyes and my gut feelin’.
- This Evan Carter, they think he’s gonna play 150 games.
- They even say he’s good against both right-handed and left-handed pitchers.
- That’s a lot of baseball.
- He better be eatin’ his Wheaties!
- I tell ya, it’s a whole different world these days.
They’re sayin’ this Evan Carter fella played a little bit last year and helped the team win somethin’ called “the ring.” Must be a big, fancy ring. Like a championship, I suppose. Good for him. But he didn’t play much, so he’s still considered a “rookie.” Like a newbie, a beginner. And a “prospect.” Someone they think is gonna be good. They even compared him to another young fella named Langford, sayin’ Evan Carter is ranked just one spot ahead of him.
They’re makin’ all these Evan Carter projections for 2024, guessin’ how many times he’s gonna be up to bat and all that. It’s all just a big guessing game, if you ask me. But these young folks, they love it. They eat it up. They spend hours talkin’ about it and readin’ about it and playin’ their fantasy baseball. It’s a whole world I don’t understand, but as long as they’re happy, I suppose it’s alright.
Well, I gotta go. Got chores to do. These chickens ain’t gonna feed themselves. But I’ll keep an ear out for this Evan Carter fella. Sounds like he’s gonna be somebody. Maybe I’ll even try to understand this fantasy baseball thing one of these days. But don’t hold your breath. I got more important things to worry about, like makin’ sure my garden grows and my preserves are stocked up for the winter. That’s real life, not some fantasy game. But hey, to each their own, right? This is the Evan Carter projections, I reckon. I just hope the boy stays safe and healthy. That’s the most important thing in the end, ain’t it?
