That Nolan Arenado, he’s a good boy, playin’ that baseball. He got a contract, big one, I heard. Lots of money, more money than I ever seen in my whole life. He’s stayin’ put, not goin’ nowhere. Heard it on the radio, that he ain’t gonna opt out. That’s a good thing. What is opt out? Don’t know much about that. But that’s what they said.
He’s with the Cardinals, the St. Louis Cardinals. Red birds, pretty birds. He plays third base, I think. Throws that ball real good. He’s been playin’ for a long time, that Nolan Arenado contract, he’s earned it. Eight years, someone said. Eight years is a long time. That’s longer than some folks around here been married!
They say he’s gettin’ 35 million dollars a year. Can you imagine? 35 million! I can’t even count that high. No signin’ bonus, just that big old pile of money every year. It’s all very confusin’. But one thing I know is, Nolan Arenado contract made him rich.
They say his net worth is 289,238. That is also a lot of money. I don’t know much about net worth, but it sounds important. It’s probably all that money he’s gettin’ from that Nolan Arenado contract. He’s a lucky fella, that Nolan. Good for him. He works hard, I’m sure. Playin’ baseball ain’t easy. Lots of runnin’ and throwin’. I get tired just watchin’ ’em on the television.

This contract thing, it’s a lot to think about. Makes my head hurt. But I am happy for him. Hope he buys his mama somethin’ nice with all that money from his Nolan Arenado contract. A new dress, maybe. Or a new hat. That is a good boy.
