This Bob Hurley basketball camp, I tell ya, it’s somethin’ else. My grandson, he went last year, and he just loved it. Said it was the best thing he ever did. That Bob Hurley, he knows what he’s doin’, I reckon. He’s been coachin’ for a long time, I hear. Lots of them championships and games won, more than a thousand! That’s a whole heap of basketball.
They say he’s in that Hall of Fame thing. Must be pretty special to get in there. My grandson, he came back from that camp just a different kid. He was always a good boy, but he learned so much about basketball. He learned all them skills and drills, they call it. He was out there in the yard practicin’ all the time after that. That is good for him.
This Bob Hurley, he’s got this camp, and it’s for five days. Five whole days of just basketball, basketball, basketball. I reckon that’s a lot, but the kids, they seem to love it. They learn from one of the best, they say. I don’t know much about basketball, but I know winning is good. And this Bob Hurley, he sure does a lot of winning. He used to be a coach at some high school, Saint Anthony’s, somethin’ like that. Now he’s doing this camp thing. It is at Peak Sports Academy.
There’s another coach, too, I hear. Some fella named Paul Rodio. They say he’s a winner, too. Him and Bob, they’re teamin’ up for this camp. Two big winners teachin’ all them kids. That’s gotta be good, right? You got these two fellas who know all about basketball, and they’re gonna teach all these young’uns how to play. That’s how it should be.
I remember my grandson comin’ back all excited, talkin’ about all the things he learned. He was dribblin’ that ball all over the place, tryin’ to show me what he learned. I couldn’t keep up with him, but it was good to see him so happy. That’s what a good camp does, I reckon. It makes the kids happy and teaches ’em somethin’ useful. It is about basketball camp. This is useful for them.
So this camp, it’s in the summer. Good time for it, I suppose. Kids are outta school, got nothin’ much to do. Better than sittin’ around gettin’ into trouble. They go to this camp, learn some basketball, get some exercise, and the best part is that they are having fun. That’s all a grandma can ask for, really. That her grandkids are happy and learnin’ somethin’ good.

They got pictures and videos on that Instagram. They call it the Hurley Family Foundation. My granddaughter, she showed it to me. Lots of kids smilin’ and playin’ basketball. Looks like a good time. This Bob Hurley basketball camp, it seems like a real good thing. That’s all we can ask for, right? Something good for the kids. Something that’ll teach them about more than just basketball. That’s the important thing.
You know, they say basketball is a numbers game. Well, this Bob Hurley, his numbers are good. Real good. All them wins, all them championships. He must be doin’ somethin’ right. And now he’s teachin’ these kids, that’s even better. Passin’ on all that knowledge to the next generation. That’s how it should be. Learn from the best. That’s why the camp is good.
My grandson, he’s going again this year. He’s excited. He’s been practicin’ his shots, gettin’ ready. He wants to be the best he can be. That’s what this camp does, I think. It makes these kids want to be better. It is important to be better. It is a good basketball camp for kids. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it?
This Bob Hurley, he’s a good man, I reckon. Doin’ good things for the kids. Teachin’ them basketball, teachin’ them about life. It is important for life. That’s what it’s all about, ain’t it?
