Well, let me tell ya, football, that’s a rough game. Those boys get banged up real bad. I heard somethin’ ’bout some Marshall football players gettin’ hurt. Folks wanna know, ain’t it? So, let’s see what I can dig up about these Marshall Thundering Herd Injuries. Yeah, that sounds about right for a team name.
Now, they say this here is for the 2024-2025 NCAAF season. That’s college football, for you city slickers. These young fellas, they go out there and give it their all, but sometimes, well, things happen. It’s a rough and tumble sport, just like life, I tell ya.
One fella, J.J. Roberts, they said he’s a defensive back. Sounds important. Poor boy ended up in the hospital! Scared his family somethin’ fierce, they say. Happened in a game against James Madison. We lost that one, 20 to 9. But J.J., bless his heart, he’s outta the hospital now. That’s good news, real good news. He’s a local boy too, from Cabell Midland. Folks ’round here were real worried.
- J.J. Roberts: Defensive Back – Injured against James Madison, was in hospital, now out.
Now, I ain’t too sure ‘bout all the other fellas, but they say football players get all sorts of hurts. Knees, ankles, shoulders… you name it. Heck, I remember my grandson, Billy, he played a little football in high school. Came home one day with a limp so bad, looked like a three-legged dog. Said he twisted his ankle. Took him weeks to get right. These Marshall boys, they’re tougher than Billy, I reckon, but still, injuries can mess ‘em up good.
And it ain’t just about one game, see? If a player gets hurt bad, he might miss a whole bunch of games, maybe even the whole season! That’s tough on the team, and tough on the boy himself. They train so hard, you know? All summer long, runnin’ and liftin’ weights. And then, bam! One bad hit and it’s all over.
I heard tell of another fella, Jason Marshall Jr. Now, he don’t play for Marshall, he plays for Florida. But see, it just goes to show ya, this injury thing happens everywhere. This boy, he’s a top cornerback, whatever that means. Sounds fancy. Anyways, he’s gonna miss the last five games of the season. Five games! That’s a long time to be sittin’ on the bench. Poor fella.
So, when you hear about these college football injuries, you gotta remember, these ain’t just names on a list. These are young men, somebody’s sons, maybe somebody’s daddies even. They’re out there givin’ it their all, and sometimes, well, sometimes they pay the price.
Now, Marshall, they won a championship back in 2020. Was a big deal, I tell ya. They weren’t even supposed to win, but they did it anyway. Showed those other teams somethin’. But even champions get hurt. That’s just the way it is.
This here Marshall Thundering Herd team, they got some good players, I reckon. But you never know what’s gonna happen. One minute they’re runnin’ down the field, the next they’re bein’ carried off on a stretcher. It’s a scary thing to watch, but that’s football for ya. It’s a tough game for tough fellas.
So, keep them boys in your prayers, y’hear? Pray they stay healthy and strong. And if they do get hurt, pray they get better soon. ‘Cause football, well, it ain’t nothin’ without healthy players. And these young fellas, they deserve our support, win or lose, hurt or healthy.
I hope this gives ya some idea ‘bout what’s goin’ on with them Marshall football player injuries. It’s hard to keep track of it all, but I done my best. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football’s made me hungry!
And remember, keep checking back for updates, things change quicker than the weather these days! You never know who might twist an ankle or get a bump on the head. That’s just the way it goes with football.
