Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about them San Antonio Spurs and their boo-boos. Yeah, the injury report. That’s what them city folks call it. We just say who’s hurt and who ain’t.
So, first off, that young’un, Vassell. Poor thing’s got a bruised bone in his knee, the left one. He ain’t gonna be playin’ against them Warriors, no sir. And probably not against that Utah Jazz team neither. That’s a shame, he’s a good player, runs fast like a chicken with its head cut off, but in a good way, you know?
- Vassell: Hurt knee, won’t play.
Now, I heard tell there was a whole bunch of ’em got hurt in that game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Four of ’em! Can you believe it? Four! That’s like half the team, ain’t it? I don’t know what they’re doin’ out there, trippin’ over their own feet maybe? They need to drink more milk, that’s what I say. Makes your bones strong, you know.
And then there’s this Brandon Boston Jr. They done let him go, waived him, they say. Guess he wasn’t good enough or maybe he got hurt too, I dunno. Things happen, I guess. One minute you’re playin’ ball, the next you’re sittin’ on the bench, or worse, gone altogether.
- Brandon Boston Jr.: Waived, not playin’ no more for the Spurs.
You know, this San Antonio Spurs injury thing is a real pickle. It’s hard to win games when your players are all banged up. It ain’t like plantin’ corn, where you just put the seed in the ground and wait. These fellas gotta be runnin’ and jumpin’ and all that, and if their knees and ankles ain’t workin’ right, well, they ain’t gonna be doin’ much of nothin’.
I keep hearin’ folks talkin’ about the “2023-24 season” and the “2024-25 season”. Sounds fancy, but it just means this year and next year to me. And seems like every year, them Spurs got somebody hurt. It’s the same old story, different year. You watch, somebody else will get hurt soon enough. It’s just the way things are, I reckon.
I try to keep up with it all, you know. I hear things on the radio, and sometimes my grandson shows me things on that little phone of his. He says Fox Sports and ESPN got all the news. News about who’s playin’ and who’s hurt and all that. It’s a lot to take in, but I figure if I’m gonna watch them games, I oughta know who’s out there on the court.
San Antonio Spurs injuries, that’s the main thing we’re talkin’ about here. Injuries, injuries, injuries. It’s always somethin’. And it ain’t just the Spurs, mind you. Every team got their share of hurt players. But we’re talkin’ about the Spurs today. That’s our team.
They say some of these injuries are day-to-day. That means they might play, they might not. It’s like waitin’ for the rain, you just don’t know when it’s gonna come. And some of them are out for a while. Weeks, maybe even months. That’s a long time to be sittin’ on the sidelines. I hope they’re eatin’ their vegetables and gettin’ their rest. That’s what you gotta do when you’re hurt.
So, that’s the lowdown, as best as I can tell ya. Vassell’s out, Brandon Boston Jr. is gone, and a bunch of other fellas got banged up against them Pelicans. We’ll just have to wait and see who’s playin’ and who’s not, game by game. It’s a long season, and them Spurs gotta try to stay healthy if they wanna win. That’s all there is to it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about injuries is makin’ me hungry.
San Antonio Spurs gotta be tough. City folks with their fancy words and their “injury report” don’t fool me. I know what’s what. A hurt player is a hurt player. And the Spurs got too many of them right now. They need to get better, and fast. That’s all I gotta say.
Keep an eye on ESPN and Fox Sports if you want the latest. That’s what the young folks tell me to do. But I’ll be watchin’ the games, that’s for sure. Even if half the team is sittin’ on the bench with ice packs. Go Spurs!
