Alright, let’s talk about them birdies at the 2023 PGA Championship, ya hear? Lots of them little birdies flying around, I tell ya.
So, how many birdies in 2023 PGA Championship? Well, they say over the whole week, them fellas sunk 1111 birdies. Yep, 1111! That’s a whole lotta chirpin’ going on, ain’t it? First round, they got 307, then the second round, bam! 391 birdies, the most of the whole shebang. Them golfers were busy little beavers, or should I say, busy little birdies?
Now, you gotta remember, there were 156 players swattin’ at them balls. Every single one of ’em played at least one round, and they all contributed to that big ol’ birdie count. Makes ya wonder how many worms they dug up along the way, hehe.
- Round one: 307 birdies
- Round two: 391 birdies – That’s the big one!
- Total for the week: 1111 birdies
I heard tell that some fellas, they’re real good at gettin’ them birdies. Stephan Jaeger, that fella, he had the most birdies in the whole 2023 season. And then there’s Eric Cole, they say he got the most birdies in 2022-23. These young’uns, they sure are somethin’ else. Always hittin’ them balls and gettin’ them birdies.
They got this thing called “birdies per round” too. Ludvig Aberg, he was the best at that in 2022-23. Means he got more birdies every time he played, I reckon. Smart fella, that Ludvig. He knows how to find them birdies, just like I know how to find a good bargain at the market.
Speaking of rounds, them leaders, they average around 4.5 birdies a round. That’s pretty good, I guess. They been doin’ that for years, too. 2020, 2021, 2022, all about the same. These golfers, they’re consistent, I’ll give ‘em that.
Now, let me tell ya a story: There were these two fellas, Cameron Smith, from that Australia place, and another one, can’t recall his name. Anyways, they tied for the lowest round of the whole week. And guess what? They got 15 birdies between ‘em in just one day! Fifteen! That’s like a whole flock of birdies flyin’ around. Musta been somethin’ to see.
And then there’s this fella, Mark Calcavecchia. He got 32 birdies in a whole tournament back in 2001. Another fella, Paul Gow, he did the same thing that year. 32 birdies! That’s a record, they say. I tell ya, these golfers, they’re somethin’ else. Always tryin’ to outdo each other.
So, there ya have it. 1111 birdies in the whole 2023 PGA Championship. That’s a heap of birdies, if you ask me. More birdies than chickens in my coop, that’s for sure! And remember, it ain’t just about the total number, it’s about them birdies per round and who’s gettin’ the most. That’s how they keep track of who’s the best, I figure. Just like how I keep track of who owes me a dozen eggs.
In short, them golfers, they good at gettin’ birdies. And that’s all there is to it. Now, let me go make some supper.
