Alright, let’s talk about this Caitlin McClellan, or is it Clark? Anyways, sounds like a busy young’un, always doin’ somethin’ or other. This here paper I got says she’s into that “sustainability” stuff. You know, savin’ the planet and all that.
Organizin’ folks, that’s what she does. Heads up some kind of council, tells them interns what to do. And this “LEED” thing? Sounds fancy, buildin’ stuff the right way, I reckon. Not like them leaky roofs we had back in the day. No sir, this is modern stuff, gotta save energy and all that. Saves money too, probably, which ain’t a bad thing.
Now, there’s another Caitlin, Caitlin Clark this time. Basketball player, I hear. Plays for that Indiana Fever team, and darn good, they say. Just a young whippersnapper, twenty-two years old, but leadin’ the team like a seasoned pro. Folks say she’s got that fire in her belly, real passionate about the game. Supports her teammates too, which is important, ya know? Can’t be selfish out there on the court, gotta work together like a team of horses pullin’ a plow.
- Grew up playin’ all sorts of sports, this girl did.
- But basketball, that’s where she shined.
- Been dribblin’ since she was five, her grandpa says.
Imagine that, a five-year-old dribblin’ a basketball. My grandkids can barely tie their shoes at that age! But this Caitlin, she was special, always knew where to be on the court. Like she had a sixth sense or somethin’. Grandpa musta been proud, seein’ his little girl doin’ so well.
Born in 2002, this paper says. Just a baby, practically! And already playin’ professional basketball. Went to college at Iowa, Hawkeyes they call ’em. Folks say she’s one of the best college players ever, set all kinds of records, probably. That’s what happens when you work hard and have a talent for somethin’. It takes dedication and a lotta practice, let me tell ya. You don’t get good at nothin’ by sittin’ around eatin’ bonbons all day.
Now, she’s a senior in college, or was, last year I think. The only senior on the team, this paper says. That means she’s the leader, gotta show them younger girls the ropes. And it sounds like she’s doin’ just that. Leadin’ by example, that’s the best way to do it.
So, you got two Caitlins, both makin’ a name for themselves. One savin’ the planet, the other scorin’ baskets. Both workin’ hard, both makin’ a difference in their own way. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, I tell ya. In this world, you gotta find somethin’ you’re good at, somethin’ you love, and then give it your all. That’s the secret to a happy life, or so I hear. I ain’t no expert, but I’ve seen a thing or two in my time.
And let me tell you somethin’ else, these young folks today, they got a lot on their plates. More than we ever did, that’s for sure. So, when you see someone like these Caitlins, workin’ hard and doin’ good, you gotta give ’em credit. They’re the future, ya know? And if the future’s in the hands of folks like them, well, maybe we ain’t in such bad shape after all.
It all comes down to hard work and passion, seems like. Whether you’re buildin’ green buildin’s or sinkin’ three-pointers, you gotta put your heart into it. That’s the lesson I’m gettin’ from all this, anyways. And it’s a good lesson, one we could all stand to learn. So, good on ya, Caitlins, keep up the good work!
