Alright, let’s talk about this Draymond Green fella and his money situation, you know, his contract. I heard folks jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d try and make sense of it all, the best I can.
So, this Draymond, he plays basketball, right? For them Golden State Warriors. Seems like he’s been there a good long while. Now, these fellas, they get paid a whole heap of money to bounce that ball around.
From what I gather, Draymond, he just signed a new contract. A big one! They sayin’ it’s somethin’ like four years, and a hundred million dollars. That’s a lot of chickens, let me tell ya! A hundred million! Can you even imagine? I sure can’t. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it.
- Four years, they say. That means he’s gonna be playin’ for them Warriors for four more years. Unless somethin’ changes, I guess. These things, they can be tricky, you know.
- And that hundred million? Well, that’s spread out over them four years. So, he’s gettin’ somethin’ like twenty-five million dollars a year. Twenty-five million dollars! For playin’ a game! Lord have mercy.
Now, I heard tell that before this new contract, he had another one. Somethin’ about five years and eighty-two million dollars. That was a good chunk of change too, but this new one, it’s even bigger. Seems like this Draymond, he’s pretty good at what he does.
But here’s the thing. I heard some folks sayin’ he wanted even more money. Somethin’ they call a “max contract.” Said if the Warriors didn’t give it to him, he’d go listen to other teams. Well, I guess he got enough to keep him happy, seein’ as he signed that four-year deal. A hundred million will keep you in grits and biscuits for a long, long time.
They also talkin’ about him bein’ a “free agent” before he signed this new contract. That just means he coulda gone and played for any team he wanted. But he stayed with the Warriors. Maybe they offered him the most money, maybe he just likes it there. Who knows?
There was some talk about him hurtin’ his leg, somethin’ called a calf. They did some kinda picture thing, an “MRI” they called it, and it turned out okay. He didn’t break nothin’ and can go back to playin’. That’s good, I reckon. You can’t make all that money if you’re sittin’ on the bench, now can ya?
And they say he’s not even all that tall for a basketball player. Six foot six, somethin’ like that. But I guess he’s tough and he knows how to play the game. They even said he looked short standin’ next to some other fella, a real tall one.
So, this new contract, it’s got somethin’ called a “player option” for the last year. That means Draymond, he gets to decide if he wants to play that last year or not. And there’s somethin’ about a “trade bonus” too. Fifteen percent, they said. Sounds like if the Warriors decide they want to trade him to another team, he gets extra money. Land sakes, these contracts are complicated!
Anyways, that’s the long and short of it, as best as I can figure. Draymond Green, he signed a big contract with the Golden State Warriors for four years and a hundred million dollars. That’s a whole lotta money, and I reckon he’s gonna be set for life. Good for him, I say. He earned it, playin’ that game and all.
In short, Draymond Green contract is pretty good deal for him. He gettin’ paid a whole bunch of money to play basketball for the Warriors. And that’s all there is to it, far as I’m concerned.
