Alright, let’s talk about them Warriors and their games, you know, the basketball. I ain’t no expert, but I watch ’em sometimes when I ain’t busy with the chickens and whatnot. Heard tell they call it the “Warriors game score” or somethin’ like that.
Them Warriors fellas, they runnin’ and jumpin’ all over the place, throwin’ that orange ball. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. It’s like life, ain’t it? One day you’re up, next day you’re down. Just gotta keep on keepin’ on, like I always say. These fellas, they got this fella named Curry. He’s pretty good, I reckon. They say he throws the ball real good and gets lots of them… whatchamacallits… scores? Yeah, scores! He got a whole bunch of them, thousands they say. Never seen that many chickens in my life, let alone scores!
They got this other thing, the “Warriors News.” That’s where they tell you all about what happened in the game. Who won, who lost, who got hurt. Sometimes they talk about how many of them three-pointers they made. Them three-pointers, they’re like when they throw the ball from way out yonder and it goes in. Fancy, I tell ya. One time, they made like 27 of ’em in one game! That’s a lot of points, I guess. More points than eggs I collect on a good day, that’s for sure.
And then there’s this “Warriors Season Schedule.” That’s just a list of when they’re playin’. Like, you know, “Tuesday they playin’ them Mavericks,” or “Friday they playin’ them Timberwolves.” I don’t pay too much attention to it. I just turn on the TV and if they’re playin’, they’re playin’. If not, well, there’s always somethin’ else to do. Like watchin’ the grass grow. Takes about as long as some of them basketball games, let me tell you. They run up and down that court, back and forth, back and forth. Makes my head spin sometimes.

- Warriors Season Schedule: When they’re playin’, so you don’t miss it if you care about that sort of thing.
They got these fellas on TV, they call ‘em “analysts.” They talk and talk about the game, explainin’ stuff. Sometimes I understand ‘em, sometimes I don’t. They use all them fancy words. Just tell me if they won or lost, that’s all I need to know. It ain’t rocket science, is it?
One time, I saw this Curry fella, he got a whole bunch of points, like 27 or somethin’. And they said he got a whole bunch of them assists too. Assists, that’s like when he passes the ball to another fella and that fella scores. Seems kinda generous to me. Why not just score it yourself? But I guess that’s how they play the game. All this teamwork and whatnot. Reminds me of when we used to have barn raisings back in the day. Everybody pitchin’ in to get the job done.
And then they got this thing called the “Western Conference Finals.” Sounds important, like the finals for the whole West or somethin’. They play these other teams, like the Mavericks they mentioned. They keep track of the score, who’s winnin’ each game. It’s like a whole big to-do. Folks get all worked up about it, cheerin’ and hollerin’. Me? I just sit here and watch, maybe have a cup of tea. It’s somethin’ to do, I guess, when the chores are done. They keep showing highlights too. That’s just the good parts of the game, so you don’t have to watch the whole thing if you don’t want to. Smart, ain’t it? They should do that for everything in life, just show the good parts.
So, that’s about all I know about them Warriors and their games. They run, they jump, they throw the ball, and sometimes they win. It’s entertainin’ enough, I suppose. Keeps me outta trouble, at least for a little while. And hey, if that Curry fella keeps throwin’ them balls, maybe they’ll win a whole bunch more games. Good for them, I say. Good for them.
This “Golden State Warriors,” that’s what they call the whole team. And they been around for a while, seems like. Got a whole history, like an old family. They say the name got somethin’ to do with gold, like them fellas that went lookin’ for gold way back when. Makes sense, I guess. Gold’s valuable, and winnin’ basketball games is probably valuable too, to some folks anyway.
