Alright, so you wanna know about this Zach Johnson fella, huh? Seems like a big deal golfer, from what I hear. They say he’s been swingin’ clubs since he was a young’un. Played all sorts of sports, baseball, basketball, football, even that soccer thing. But golf, that’s where he made his mark, I guess.
Now, they got this fancy thing called the “Official World Golf Ranking.” Sounds important, right? Well, this Zach fella, he’s been up and down that list like a yo-yo. I heard tell he was way up there, almost in the top 10, after winnin’ some tournament or other, twice even! The John Deere Classic, they called it. Beat some fella named Troy Matteson in a playoff. Don’t know who Troy is, but Zach must’ve been good that day. That win boosted him up to number 11 in the world. That’s what they told me, anyways.

- Before that, he was playin’ in somethin’ called the Nationwide Tour.
- Guess that’s like the minor leagues for golf, eh?
They say he’s won a bunch of tournaments, 12 of ‘em on the PGA Tour, whatever that is. Even won a couple of big ones, “major championships” they call ‘em. Sounds like a big deal, winning those. This fella, Zachary Harris Johnson, born in 1976, that’s what the paper said. Been around for a while then.
But now, things ain’t lookin’ so rosy. Last I heard, he’s way down the list, somethin’ like 319th in the world. That’s a big drop! Guess he ain’t playin’ so hot these days. And that darn COVID thing got him too. Had to pull out of some big tournament, the Open Championship, back in 2021. Terrible stuff, that virus.
He’s had his ups and downs, this Zach Johnson. One minute he’s near the top, the next he’s way down there. That’s life, I reckon. Just like that cornfield out back, sometimes it grows tall and strong, sometimes it gets hit by a drought and withers. You just gotta keep on keepin’ on, I always say.
So, where does he stand now? Well, like I said, 319th in the world as of December 2nd. That’s what the internet folks told me. Don’t really understand all this ranking stuff, but it sounds like he’s got some work to do if he wants to get back up there with the top dogs. But hey, he’s a fighter, this Zach Johnson. He’s been playing this game a long time, and I wouldn’t count him out just yet. He might just surprise us all and climb back up that ranking. Only time will tell, I suppose.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. This Zach Johnson, he’s a golfer, a pretty good one at times, but lately not so much. He’s had a long career, won some big tournaments, and had his share of troubles too. Just like the rest of us, I guess.
