Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta figure out this football stuff, this… Hunter Henry or Jake Ferguson thing. My grandson, he’s all into this fantasy football, and he’s always askin’ me who to pick. Like I know! But I hear things, ya know? I listen to the TV, and those fellas yellin’ about points and yards and whatnot. So, lemme tell ya what I’ve picked up.
First off, this Hunter Henry fella. He plays for the… Patriots, I think. Sounds like a good team, always hearin’ about ’em. They say he’s a good “stash,” whatever that means. Guess it means he’s worth keepin’ around. He’s a tight end, that’s like… well, they catch the ball, I know that much. And they gotta be big and strong, to block them other fellas. This Henry, they say he’s one of the good ones. Especially for Week 8, they kept sayin’. Don’t ask me what week it is now, I lose track. But if you need a tight end, and he’s there, maybe snatch him up.

Now, this Jake Ferguson, he’s another tight end. Plays for… shoot, I can’t remember. The Razorbacks, somethin’ like that, in college. He’s been doin’ alright, too, gettin’ them fantasy points, they call ’em. But see, they got this other fella on his team, Cooks. And they gotta share the ball, ya see? Like when you got two grandkids and only one cookie, gotta split it. So, maybe Ferguson don’t get as many chances. But then again, they sayin’ this week he’s playin’ against some team that lets the tight ends catch the ball all the time. Cincy, they called ’em. So maybe he’ll have a good week. It’s all a gamble, I tell ya. Like plantin’ tomatoes, sometimes they grow, sometimes they don’t.
My grandson, he’s always lookin’ at these rankings, TE rankings, he calls ’em. TE stands for tight end, I finally figured that out. He’s always comparing quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, and even them wide receivers. He’s got charts and numbers all over the place. Makes my head spin. But them experts, they sayin’ stuff, too. They give advice, like who to start each week. Week 10, Week 12, Week 13, Week 14… it never ends! They even talk about who to draft for the whole season, way back in 2024, they was talkin’. My grandson, he listens to them Fantasy Footballers, they got a podcast or somethin’. Loud fellas, always yellin’. But they know their football, I guess. They helpin’ folks decide between Henry and Ferguson, week after week.
So, who do you pick? Henry or Ferguson? Well, it ain’t easy. Henry, he’s a good one, but Ferguson, he might have a good week ’cause of that Cincy team. You gotta look at the matchups, they say. Who’s playin’ who. And you gotta see who’s healthy, who’s gettin’ the ball thrown to ’em. This Maye fella, he’s throwin’ the ball to Henry. Sounds important. It’s like pickin’ between two good apples. One might be a little shinier, the other might be a little bigger. You just gotta make a choice and hope for the best. That’s what I told my grandson, anyway. He just rolled his eyes, kids these days! They think they know everything.
And don’t forget the red zone, they always talkin’ ’bout the red zone. That’s when they get close to scorin’, I think. Ferguson, they sayin’ he don’t get too many looks in the red zone. Means he don’t get many chances to catch the ball and score. Henry, I ain’t heard nothin’ bad about him in the red zone, so maybe that’s somethin’ to think about. It’s all a bunch of numbers and stats, but it boils down to this: who’s gonna catch the ball and score the touchdowns? That’s what wins ya the games, and that’s what gets ya them fantasy points. So you gotta use your noodle, do your research, and make a decision. And if you make the wrong one? Well, that’s just football, I guess. There’s always next week.
