Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this Jaxson Lynn Woodland kid. I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is, you know? Like how we gossip over the fence ’bout folks in town.
So, this Jaxson, he’s a young’un, a kid, you get me? And his daddy? Well, his daddy’s this fella named Gary Woodland. Heard tell he’s a big shot golfer, plays on that there PGA Tour. Big deal golfer, they say. Wins tournaments and such. Born way back in 1984, in Kansas, that’s where they from. Topeka, Kansas, to be exact.
Gary, Jaxson’s daddy, he’s got a wife, Gabby. Gabby Granado Woodland, that’s her full name. They had it rough for a spell, lost some babies, real sad like. But then, they had this Jaxson. He’s their boy, their pride and joy, I reckon.
Now, I ain’t never seen Jaxson play no golf, but with a daddy like Gary, I bet he’ll be swingin’ them clubs afore too long. He’s a celebrity kid, they call ’em. Means his daddy’s famous, and that makes Jaxson kinda famous too, I guess. Like them kids you see on TV, you know, the ones with the movie star parents? Somethin’ like that.

My kids never had no pictures taken ‘cept for school and that one time at the county fair. But I guess that’s what happens when your daddy’s a famous golfer.
Gary, he won somethin’ big, the U.S. Open, they said. Changed his life, they did. Probably changed Jaxson’s life too, come to think of it. Probably got all sorts of fancy toys and such. My kids, they had to make their own toys, sticks and rocks mostly. But times is different now, I s’pose.
Gary’s folks, Dan and Linda Woodland, they must be real proud. Grandkids are a blessin’, they say. I got grandkids myself, noisy little buggers, but I love ’em to pieces. Gary, he probably feels the same ’bout Jaxson. That’s how it is with families, ain’t it?
I heard tell Gary’s got a whole profile page online, talks ’bout his career and all. Stats, they call ’em. How many times he hit the ball and where it went and all that. I ain’t got no time for that kinda stuff. I got chickens to feed and a garden to tend. But some folks, they like to keep track of that stuff. Guess it’s important for the golfin’ and all.
Jaxson Lynn Woodland, that’s the name to remember. He’s young now, but who knows, maybe he’ll be a golfer just like his daddy. Or maybe he’ll do somethin’ completely different. Kids these days, they got all sorts of ideas. But one thing’s for sure, he’s got a good start in life, with a daddy like Gary and a momma like Gabby. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
