Alright, let’s talk about this tennis match, you know, the one with them fancy names, Navarro and Grabher. I saw it on the TV, kinda hard to miss with all the yellin’ and ball hittin’.
So, this Navarro girl, she’s pretty good, I guess. Ranked number 15, they say. That’s high, right? Means she’s one of the best, like them prize-winning pigs at the county fair. Grabher, though, she’s number 312. That’s a big difference, like comparing a prize pig to a scrawny little runt.
They played in Paris, France. Fancy place, I hear. Never been there myself. Too busy milkin’ cows and tendin’ to the chickens. The match was on July 28th, 2024. I remember ’cause it was the day after I baked that apple pie, the one that got burnt on the bottom. Don’t ask.
- Match Date: July 28, 2024
- Location: Court 10, Paris, France
- Event: Olympics first round, part of Olympisch toernooi Paris, France.
Anyway, they said it was the first time these two girls played each other. First time for everything, I always say. Like that time I tried to fix the tractor and ended up makin’ it worse. These things happen.
The match, it was quick. Navarro, she beat Grabher 6-0 in the first set. Clean sweep, like sweepin’ the porch after a dust storm. Second set, same thing, 6-0 again. Poor Grabher, she didn’t stand a chance. Navarro was just too strong, like my ol’ mule pullin’ a heavy plow.
The whole thing ended 2-0. Navarro won, easy peasy. Some folks were bettin’ on this match, I heard. The odds were like, -5000 for Navarro. That means she was a sure thing, like the sun risin’ in the east. If you bet on her, you didn’t win much, but you didn’t lose neither. Betting on Grabher woulda been like bettin’ on a three-legged horse in a race, just plain foolish.
I don’t know much about tennis, to be honest. Seems like a lot of runnin’ around and hittin’ a fuzzy ball. But I know a winner when I see one. Navarro, she’s a winner, alright. Moves quick, hits hard. Reminds me of that rooster we had, always peckin’ at the other chickens. Feisty little fella.
Now, some folks say Navarro was playin’ in Wimbledon just a few weeks before, in July. Lost in the quarterfinals, they said. But still, she’s a good player. Just goes to show, even the best can have a bad day. Like that time I tried to make jam and it turned out all watery.
Grabher, well, I don’t know much about her. Guess she’s got a lot of work to do if she wants to beat the likes of Navarro. Maybe she needs to practice more, or eat more spinach, like Popeye. Or maybe she just needs a good pair of work boots and a shovel, come work on the farm with me. That’ll toughen her up.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about this match. Navarro won, Grabher lost. Simple as that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
