Alright, so you wanna know about Shohei’s girlfriend, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t no girlfriend no more. That boy went and got himself hitched! Yep, married. Can you believe it? This baseball fella, Shohei somethin’-or-other, the one always hittin’ them balls real far, he’s got himself a wife now.
Her name? Mamiko Tanaka, that’s what they say. Don’t ask me how I know, word gets around, ya know? Folks talk. Especially ’bout famous people and their business. Seems like just yesterday he was this young fella playin’ ball, and now he’s all grown up and married. Time flies, I tell ya, time flies.
They got married back in February, this year, 2024. February, can you imagine? That’s a cold month to get hitched, but I guess when you’re in love, you don’t care much ’bout the weather. And let me tell ya, this Shohei fella, he’s got plenty of love, and plenty of money too, from what I hear. Millions! Can you picture that? More money than I’ve seen in my whole life, that’s for sure.
- Married: February 2024
- Wife’s Name: Mamiko Tanaka
- Shohei’s Age: 30 years old
- Wife’s Age: 27 years old
They say she used to be a basketball player, over in Japan. A professional one, too! Imagine that, a basketball player and a baseball player, a match made in sports heaven, I guess. I never saw her play myself, but they say she was pretty good. Now though, she likes to stay outta the spotlight. Can’t blame her, all them cameras and people starin’, must be a lot to handle. She seems like a quiet gal, not one for all that fuss and bother.
I heard they even went to some fancy shindig together, a “Blue Diamond Gala” they called it. Walked on a red carpet, all dressed up. Must’ve been somethin’ to see. But like I said, she ain’t one for all the attention. Keeps to herself mostly, from what I gather. Probably a good thing, too much attention ain’t good for nobody.
This Shohei fella, he’s a big deal, ya know? Plays for the Dodgers now, makin’ all sorts of money. They say he’s worth like, 85 million dollars! Can you even imagine that much money? And that’s just the start, they say he’s gonna make even more. He signed some big contract, worth a whole bunch of money. Seven hundred million, they say! That’s enough to buy a whole town, I reckon.
And with all that money, he coulda married anyone, I suppose. But he chose this Mamiko girl. Must be somethin’ special about her. Love, I guess. It’s a funny thing, love. Makes people do all sorts of things. Like gettin’ married in the middle of winter, or movin’ to a new country to play baseball. Or stayin’ outta the spotlight even though your husband is famous.
So there you have it, the story of Shohei and his wife. Not a girlfriend anymore, but a wife. Mamiko Tanaka, remember that name. She’s the lucky lady who snagged herself a baseball star. And he’s a lucky fella too, I reckon. Findin’ love ain’t always easy, no matter how much money you got. So good for them, I say. Good for them.
They even went to Korea together, when Shohei’s team went to play there. Lots of security around them, of course. Can’t be too careful when you’re famous, I guess. People always wantin’ a piece of ya. But they looked happy enough, from what I saw in the pictures. Holdin’ hands, smilin’. That’s what matters, ain’t it? Bein’ happy.
Now, don’t go askin’ me too many more questions ‘bout them. That’s about all I know. I ain’t no gossip magazine, ya hear? I just tell it like it is, the way I heard it. So there ya go, the whole story, or at least as much as this old woman knows.
