Well now, let me tell ya a little bit ’bout Eric Cole. He’s a young man from down in Delray Beach, Florida. Born back in 1988, June the 12th to be exact. Ya might be wonderin’, who is this fella and why are we talkin’ ’bout him? Well, he’s a golfer, a darn good one at that. A lotta folks know ’bout him now, but back when he was just a kid, not so many folks knew. Now, though, he’s makin’ quite a name for himself out there on the PGA Tour.
Now, Eric ain’t just some fella who picked up a golf club one day and decided to swing it. No sir! This here young man had it in him from an early age. When he was just 14 years old, he started playin’ with some big names. You see, he met Sam Saunders, who just happens to be the grandson of the legendary Arnold Palmer. And, as luck would have it, ol’ Eric even got to meet Arnold Palmer himself! Can you imagine? A young boy like that playin’ with the great Arnold Palmer on his own home turf, places like Bay Hill Club in Florida and Latrobe Country Club in Pennsylvania? That’s some mighty big shoes to fill, I tell ya.
But, it ain’t just golf that made Eric’s life a bit more interestin’. Ya see, not long after all that, Eric had a bit of a health scare. When he was just a young teen, his mom had to rush him to the emergency room, and that’s when they found out Eric had not one, but two autoimmune diseases. One of ’em was Type 1 diabetes and the other was Addison’s disease. Now, that could’ve knocked a lotta folks down, but not Eric. He kept at it, playin’ and fightin’ through it all. Life sure threw him a curveball, but he didn’t let it stop him from doin’ what he loved.
Now, let’s talk a bit about his personal life, ‘cause folks love to know about that too. Eric’s been with a lovely lady named Stephanie Williams. They been together for seven and a half years before Eric decided to pop the big question. He asked her to marry him out at the Monterey Peninsula’s Shore Course, just before the 2023 Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Ain’t that sweet? I reckon she wasn’t expectin’ it, but sometimes them surprises are the best kind.
2024’s been a mighty good year for Eric Cole, too. He made his first appearance at the Masters, and ya better believe he didn’t just show up to take in the sights. No sir, he showed up to compete. And let me tell ya, he did real well. He’s had six top-25 finishes worldwide this year, and he’s even moved up inside the top 50 in the world rankings. I’d say that’s pretty impressive for a fella who’s still findin’ his feet out there on the big stage.
So, what’s next for ol’ Eric Cole? Well, I reckon only time will tell. He’s young, talented, and determined, and if he keeps workin’ as hard as he has, there ain’t no tellin’ how far he can go. We’ll all be watchin’ with our fingers crossed, hopin’ for good things for him. From startin’ out as a young boy with dreams, to now competin’ with the very best in the world, Eric Cole’s story is one of grit, determination, and a whole lotta heart.
