Okay, so I finally got around to tackling the “Shadow Over Ban Pa 2” task today. Been putting it off, heard it could be a bit of a pain.

Getting Ready
First things first, I sorted out my gear. Didn’t want to go in unprepared. Grabbed my trusty M4, loaded up with a few extra mags of ammo – you never know. Threw in a couple of frag grenades, just in case things got messy. And of course, stacked up on meds. Bandages, a splint, maybe a painkiller or two. Learned my lesson about going in light on medical supplies before.
Heading In
Spawned in, I think it was south-east of the main village area. The weather was actually decent for once, not raining cats and dogs. Good visibility helps, but it also means they can see you easier too, right? Decided against just sprinting straight towards the objective marker. That’s usually a good way to get shot.
I took the slow route, sticking to the treeline on the eastern edge of Ban Pa. Moved from cover to cover, constantly scanning. You hear all sorts of noises in this game, twigs snapping, distant shots. Makes you jumpy. Checked the map on my device now and then, trying to pinpoint the exact building I needed to hit.
The Search and a Bit of Trouble
The task was about finding some intel, I think. Supposed to be in one of the houses deep inside the village. Started clearing buildings carefully. You gotta check corners, listen at doors. Most were empty, just the usual leftover junk. Found a decent scope attachment in one, so that was a small win.
Then, near what looked like a small marketplace, I heard them. Definite footsteps, not mine. Got low behind some sandbags. Peaked out, saw two guys moving across the way. Took aim, dropped the first one pretty clean. The second one started firing back like crazy, bullets kicking up dirt all around me. We traded shots for a bit. He clipped me in the arm, damn it. Managed to get him with a lucky burst through a wooden fence.

Heart was pounding. Quickly ducked into a nearby shed, slapped a bandage on my arm. Took a swig of water from my canteen, calmed down a bit. Gotta stay focused.
Finding the Goods and Getting Out
Moved on, clearing a couple more huts. Finally found the target building. Looked clear. Swept the rooms, and there it was, sitting on a busted table. Some kind of folder or documents. Didn’t stop to read it, just grabbed the intel.
Objective secured. Now, the fun part – extraction. Didn’t want to stick around. Decided backtracking the way I came was probably safest, even if it was slower. Heard more shooting over towards the west side of the village, sounded like a bigger fight. Steered well clear of that mess. Just kept my head down, moved between cover, watched my back.
Felt like forever, but eventually made it back to the extraction zone near where I started. Called in the chopper. Seeing that bird arrive was a huge relief. Climbed aboard, mission done.
Overall, it wasn’t too bad, but definitely tense. Those enemy AI can be unpredictable sometimes. One minute they seem blind, the next they’re pinning you down. Glad that one’s off the list now.
