Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through my experience messing around with the Jade Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail. Figured I’d share my journey, the good, the bad, and the utterly confusing bits. Let’s dive in!

First off, I decided I needed to understand what this Light Cone was all about. I read a bunch of guides online, watched some YouTube videos, and tried to wrap my head around its passive abilities. Basically, it boosts the wearer’s Break Effect, which is cool. But then it also gives a stacking ATK buff based on how much Break Effect you have. My initial thought? “Okay, sounds complicated, but I’m game!”
Then, the fun began. I went to my character screen and started looking at which characters even could use this thing. Right away, I thought of Trailblazer (Harmony) since they benefit heavily from Break Effect. I equipped the Jade Light Cone to them, and then… Nothing. Okay, not nothing, but the difference wasn’t immediately noticeable. Time for some real testing.
So I jumped into the Simulated Universe. I figured that would be a good place to see if this thing really made a difference. I started running through the World 3, specifically targeting enemies with weaknesses to the Trailblazer’s Break Effect. At first, I struggled a bit to optimize my team to focus on Break Effect, it was a bit clunky. I swapped out some characters to ones that could cause weakness breaks quickly, then it became easier.
After a couple of runs, I started to see a real difference. The Break damage was definitely higher. I was consistently breaking enemy toughness bars faster and doing more damage when I did. It felt really satisfying to see those huge numbers pop up after a well-timed Break. But then, the ATK buff. I had to watch the numbers carefully to notice how the damage was changing.
Here’s where things got a bit tricky: I noticed that the ATK buff was heavily reliant on how high my Break Effect stat was. So, I started grinding for relics with Break Effect substats. Oh man, that was a grind and a half. I spent days farming relic domains, praying to the RNG gods for good rolls. I’m talking about countless runs of the same domain, all for a measly few percentage points of Break Effect. It felt like I was hitting my head against a wall sometimes.

Then it dawned on me… I needed to level up the Light Cone! I completely forgot to do that in my eagerness to test it out. So, I spent some time farming Light Cone EXP materials and leveled it up to its max. That definitely helped, both with the Break Effect and the overall stats it provided.
Now, I could really feel the power of the Jade Light Cone. The higher my Break Effect got, the more significant the ATK buff became. My Trailblazer was hitting like a truck. I finally got to the point where I could clear the Simulated Universe challenges with relative ease, just because of the Light Cone’s boost to my damage. The biggest difference was the consistency and the damage ceiling I could achieve. Before, I was relying on luck. Now, with Break Effect, it was way easier.
My final thoughts? The Jade Light Cone is definitely a solid choice if you’re focusing on a Break Effect build. It takes some investment to get the most out of it, but once you do, it can really amplify your damage output. It’s not a game-changer for every character, but if you’re building around Break Effect, it’s worth considering. Just be prepared to grind for those relics!
I’m still experimenting with other characters who could potentially benefit from it, so I’ll keep you guys updated if I discover anything new. Happy gaming!
