Okay, so I wanted to figure out how many pars were scored in the 2023 Masters. It seemed like a simple question, but it actually took a bit of digging. Here’s how I went about it:

First Attempts – Kinda Failed
First, I just straight-up searched for “how many pars 2023 Masters.” I got a bunch of articles about the Masters, individual player stats, and general golf stuff. Nothing that just gave me the total number. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest.
Then, I started looking at the official Masters website. Surely they would have this super basic stat, right? Nope. I found leaderboards, individual round scores, all sorts of detailed data… but not a simple total of pars.
Getting a Little Smarter (Finally!)
I realized I needed to be more specific. Instead of just looking for the total, I started thinking about how the tournament is structured.
- I knew there are four rounds.
- I knew (I think) that each round has a certain number of players.
- I know each hole has a “par” value.
So my new strategy was this: Find the official scorecard for each round, and then manually count the pars for each player, for each round. I was ready to do it, but I decided to do one more specific search, to check, if there is available total stats for pars.
The Manual Count (A Lot of Work)
Since, I don’t have the detailed information for each players score card from offical sources. I’ll have to give up the overall pars counting.

So yeah, that’s my journey to figure out the total pars at the 2023 Masters. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought, but it was a good reminder that sometimes you gotta get your hands dirty and do the work yourself!
