Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting football match outcomes. It’s tough, but I figured I’d give the Atletico Madrid vs. Celtic match a shot and document my whole process. It is a tough game though.

First Step: Checking Recent Form
I started by looking at how both teams have been playing lately. I just Googled their last five or six games. I wanted to see wins, losses, draws… the usual stuff. This is not that difficult to do, find the scores on the websites is easy.
- Were they scoring a lot of goals?
- Were they conceding many?
- Were there any obvious patterns?
Next: Head-to-Head Record
I looked at what happened when these two teams played each other in the past. Sometimes there’s a clear dominance, or maybe they always play out draws. Then I will know how the teams will probably act during the game.
Looking for Injuries and Suspensions

This part is super important. I needed to know which key players might be missing. A star striker out injured? That changes things A LOT. So I spent some time digging through sports news sites.
Home Advantage?
Playing at home usually gives a team a boost. The crowd, the familiar surroundings…it all helps. I do need to make sure how much of an advantage Atletico Madrid really gets at their stadium.
The Final Verdict (My Guess!)
After all that, I felt like I had a slightly better idea, but still…it’s football! So, I will probably consider a safe bet rather than how I want the match go, I need to consider the money.

It’s a tough job, and sometimes the guessing is not that correct, so I need to collect more information.
