Okay, so I saw this thing online about Roger Clemens and Mindy McCready, and I was like, “What’s that all about?” I’m a big baseball fan, so I know Clemens, but McCready, not so much. So I decided to do some digging, and boy, was that a rabbit hole!

First, I started with a basic search. Just typed in “Roger Clemens Mindy McCready” and hit enter. A bunch of stuff popped up, mostly news articles and some gossip blog stuff. It looked like they had some kind of relationship, a long time ago.
Then, I dove into the news articles. I skimmed a few, trying to get the gist of it. Apparently, they met when she was super young, like 15 or something, and he was already a big-time pitcher. That already felt a little…icky.
I noticed a lot of the articles mentioned a “secret relationship”. So, I refined my search. I added terms like “relationship timeline” and “controversy” to my original search. This brought up more detailed articles, some with interviews and quotes. Crazy!
I spent a good hour just reading through different accounts. Some articles were clearly biased, either defending Clemens or painting him as a total villain. I tried to stick to the ones that seemed more neutral, just reporting the facts (or what they claimed were the facts).
- I found out that McCready had claimed they had a decade-long affair.
- I learned that Clemens had initially denied everything, then later admitted to knowing her, but denied a sexual relationship.
- I discovered that there was a whole legal mess involved, with lawsuits and depositions. Yikes!
Honestly, the whole thing was pretty messy and sad. I ended up feeling kinda bummed out after reading about it all. It’s a reminder that even famous people have complicated, and sometimes messed up, lives.

I closed all the tabs and just sat there for a minute, * really goes to show that the internet can take to some very very dark place, very very fast.
