Okay, so the other day I was watching some NFL, and it was freezing cold out. I saw these guys on the sidelines using these little pouches to keep their hands warm. I got curious, so I decided to look into these nfl football hand warmers and try to make some myself.
Getting Started
First, I did some digging around to see what kind of hand warmers the pros actually use. Turns out there are a few different types. Some are electric, some use a chemical reaction. And some, are just plain old pouches that you stuff with a hot pack.
I decided to go with the pouch style. I figured it’d be the easiest for a DIY project. I didn’t want to mess around with batteries or weird chemicals.
Gathering Materials
Here’s what I grabbed:
- Some thick, fleece-like fabric I had lying around. You know, the kind that’s super soft and warm.
- A needle and thread. Gotta sew the thing together!
- Scissors, of course.
- Some of those disposable hand warmer packs. You can get these at most sporting goods stores or even drugstores.
Putting It All Together
First, I cut out two rectangular pieces of the fabric. I made them big enough to fit my hands comfortably, plus a little extra room for the hand warmer pack.
Then, I sewed three sides of the rectangles together, leaving one of the short sides open. This created a little pocket.
Flipped it right side out, and boom, it starts to look like a hand warmer pouch!
The Test Run
I activated one of the disposable hand warmer packs by shaking it, like the package said. Then I slipped it inside the fleece pouch.
Stuck my hands in there, and man, it felt good! It was just like those fancy NFL ones, but way cheaper. And I made it myself!
I was pretty proud of my little creation. Now I can watch football in the cold and keep my hands toasty warm, just like the pros. Well, almost like the pros. I’m still on my couch, not on the field.
