Okay, so “high and mighty perhaps nyt” – sounds like a crossword clue, right? That’s exactly what I tackled today. I’ve gotten back into doing the New York Times crossword, and man, some days it’s a real brain buster. This one had me stumped for a good while.

I started, like I always do, by filling in the easy ones. You know, the short words, the obvious fill-in-the-blanks. Get a few of those under your belt and it feels like you’re making progress. I scanned the across clues first, then the down clues, picking off the low-hanging fruit.
The Struggle is Real
But then I hit a wall. I had a bunch of scattered letters, but nothing was making sense. This “high and mighty perhaps” clue… I kept staring at it. What could it be? I thought about words that mean “high and mighty” – arrogant, superior, lofty… nothing fit with the few letters I had.
I tried different combinations. I erased a few guesses that I wasn’t sure about. I even took a break, made some coffee, and came back to it with fresh eyes. Still nothing.
- First, looked words about arrogant.
- Second, I change my mind find words about superior.
- Last, do not forget find words about lofty.
The “Aha!” Moment
Then, it hit me. “Perhaps”… that’s the key! It’s not asking for a synonym for “high and mighty,” it’s asking for a type of thing that could be high and mighty. And then… bam! TITAN. A Titan could certainly be considered high and mighty.
I filled it in, and suddenly, a whole bunch of other clues started to make sense. It’s amazing how one word can unlock the whole puzzle. That’s the satisfaction of the crossword, right? That feeling of finally cracking the code.

So yeah, that was my little adventure today. Seemed small, might sound silly to talk much, but it was a good mental workout. Now, time to see what tomorrow’s puzzle brings!
