Okay, so I messed around with this “Slammy Awards” thing today, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a ride. I had this idea to make, like, a fun little award ceremony for… well, anything! I thought it would be cool to have a system to give out awards for different categories, like “Best Dressed Code” or “Most Likely to Cause a Merge Conflict.” You know, silly stuff.

Getting Started
First, I just started brainstorming. I needed categories, right? I grabbed a piece of paper (yeah, I’m old school sometimes) and jotted down a bunch of random ideas. Some were serious, some were totally goofy. I even considered “Best Use of Emojis in Commit Messages.”
Then, I needed a way to actually, you know, do the awards. I thought about different ways to present it. I wanted to give awards based on the categories, and choose the winners.
Building it Out
So,I decided that I needed a structure. I just thought the categories and nominees must be organized.
- Category: This is the name of the award.
- Nominees: A list of all the potential winners.
- Winner: The, well, the winner!
Then,I filled out the categories and nominees, just imagined some awards and wrote them.
Running the “Ceremony”
After I finished choosing everything,I just read the name of categories, nominees and * completed my “Slammy Awards”.

It’s all super basic right now, but hey, it was a fun little project. Maybe I’ll actually use this for something someday. Or maybe it’ll just be a silly thing I made one afternoon. Either way, it was a good time!
