Okay, here’s my attempt at mimicking the style and writing about “fortnite camp”:

Alright, so I decided to finally try out this “fortnite camp” thing everyone’s been talking about. I’m not, like, a pro gamer or anything, but my kid’s been bugging me to play Fortnite with him, and I figured this might be a good way to, you know, not totally embarrass myself.
First thing I did was, obviously, I Googled it. Found a few options, picked one that looked kinda legit and didn’t cost a fortune. I mean, it’s just a game, right? No need to go broke over it.
Getting Started
I signed up, which was a bit of a pain. Had to create a new account, verify my email, blah blah blah. You know the drill. Once I was in, I was kinda overwhelmed. There were all these videos, like, a ton of them. Different coaches, different skill levels…it was a lot to take in.
I decided to start with the beginner stuff. I mean, duh. Watched a couple of videos on building, which is apparently a huge deal in Fortnite. Like, way bigger than I thought. These guys were building these crazy fortresses in, like, seconds. I was just sitting there with my mouth open.
Practice Makes…Better?
Then came the practice part. Oh boy. Let me tell you, building in Fortnite is way harder than it looks. I kept messing up, putting walls where I didn’t want them, getting stuck…it was a mess. My kid was laughing his head off, of course. Little punk.

- First hour: Total disaster. I think I managed to build a single, sad little box.
- Second hour: Slightly less disastrous. I could build a box and a ramp! Progress!
- Third hour: I was starting to get the hang of it. Still slow, but at least I wasn’t trapping myself anymore.
The camp also had these, like, practice modes where you could just build and build without getting shot at. That was super helpful. I spent a good chunk of time just messing around in there, trying to get faster and more efficient.
Aiming and Shooting
After building, I moved on to aiming and shooting. I’ve played shooters before, so I figured this would be easier. Nope. Fortnite has this whole “bloom” thing with the guns, which means the bullets don’t always go where you’re aiming. It’s…frustrating.
The camp had some drills for improving aim, which were kinda helpful. Basically, just shooting at targets over and over again. It got boring pretty fast, but I guess it’s necessary.
Putting It All Together
The final part of the camp was about putting it all together: building, aiming, shooting, and, like, thinking about what you’re doing. This is where it all fell apart for me. I’m just not that good at multitasking, especially when people are shooting at me.
I played a few actual games after the camp, and, well, let’s just say I didn’t win any. I did manage to get a couple of kills, though, which was cool. My kid was still way better than me, but at least I wasn’t a complete noob anymore.

So, yeah, that was my Fortnite camp experience. Was it worth it? I dunno. I definitely improved, but I’m still not great. Maybe I’ll try another one sometime. Or maybe I’ll just stick to playing with my kid and getting my butt kicked. We’ll see.
