Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at MLB The Show 24, and I got to thinking, “Can I actually demand a trade?” Like, really force my player out of a team I’m not feeling anymore. So, I dove in, and here’s what went down.

The Experiment Begins
First things first, I fired up the game and hopped into my “Road to the Show” career. I’d already put in a good chunk of time, built up my player, the whole nine yards. But my team… well, let’s just say we weren’t exactly playoff contenders.
I started poking around the menus. There’s the usual stuff – checking stats, upgrading skills, all that. But then, under the “My Player” section, I found the “My Ballplayer” area and looked around further. There are options for interactions, and it turns out, you can talk to your agent.
Talking to the Agent
I went into those interactions. Initially I did not find anything, So I went into my player section and adjusted my “showtime oppurtunities” to be every oppurtunity. After that, I Simmed a few games until a new interaction popped up.
It turned out that my agent had a conversation for me about potentially getting traded.
Pushing for the Trade
- First Option: My agent asked about playing time.
- Second Option: My agent asked about the team’s direction and moving to a contender.
I, of course, chose the second option, demanding a trade. I made it pretty clear – I wanted out. I wanted to win, and this team wasn’t cutting it. My agent said he’d “feel things out.” Classic agent talk, right?

Waiting Game… and Success!
So, I simmed a few more games, anxiously waiting. And then, BAM! News alert: I was traded! It actually worked. I got shipped off to a much better team, a team that was actually in the hunt.
It was pretty awesome. It felt like I actually had some control over my player’s destiny. It wasn’t just some random, behind-the-scenes thing. I actively pushed for it, and the game responded.
So, yeah, you can demand a trade in MLB The Show 24. It’s not super obvious, you have to dig a little and have the right interaction with your agent, but it’s definitely doable. It made my “Road to the Show” experience way more interesting, that’s for sure.
