Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into FFXIV lately, and one thing I’ve been really focusing on is getting that sweet, sweet dungeon gear. I wanted to share my whole process, from start to finish, ’cause it took me a bit to figure it all out.
Figuring Out Where to Start
First, I had to figure out which dungeons even dropped the gear I wanted.I mean, there are tons of dungeons, right? At first it was a * I found the dungeons, and I started running some of the lower-level ones, just to get a feel for things.
The Grind Begins
Then, I started to target specific gear items from the dungeons. I started running those dungeons, over and over. And over. Seriously, it felt like I lived in some of those places!
- Running the same dungeon: Sometimes I’d get lucky and get a piece I needed quickly.
- RNG was a pain: Other times, I’d run the same dungeon ten times and not see a single thing I wanted. It’s all random, which can be super frustrating.
- Need or Greed:I had to pick “Need” if it was for my class, or “Greed” if it was not.
- Praying the gear drop:I was hoping the gear appear at the end of dungeon.
Teamwork (or Lack Thereof)
One of the biggest things is dealing with other players. Sometimes, you get a great group, everyone knows the fights, and it’s smooth sailing. Other times… well, let’s just say it’s a learning experience. I’ve had tanks who didn’t know how to hold aggro, healers who were more focused on DPS, and DPS who, well, weren’t doing much DPS. It’s a mixed bag, for sure.
I learned to be patient. I learned to explain mechanics if people seemed confused. And I learned that sometimes, you just gotta roll with the punches and hope for the best.
Finally Getting That Gear!
But the feeling when you finally get that piece you’ve been hunting for? Amazing! It makes all the grind and frustration worth it. Suddenly, my character looks cooler, their stats are better, and I feel like I’ve actually accomplished something.
I kept at it, slowly but surely upgrading my gear piece by piece. It’s a long process, but it’s definitely rewarding. And honestly, I’ve actually started to enjoy the grind. There’s something satisfying about seeing your character get stronger and more powerful.
So, that’s my FFXIV dungeon gear story. It’s not glamorous, it’s not always easy, but it’s definitely a core part of the game, and I’m enjoying the journey!
