Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into NCAA Football 25, trying to figure out the absolute best running playbooks. It’s been a grind, let me tell you, but a fun one!

Experimenting with Different Teams
I started by picking a few teams known for their strong running games. You know, the usual suspects. I fired up Play Now mode and just started experimenting. I spent hours, just running different plays, seeing what worked against various defenses.
Taking Notes like a Crazy Person
I had my notebook next to me, and I was constantly jotting down notes. Things like:
- Which formations seemed most effective.
- Specific plays that consistently gained yards.
- How the AI defense reacted to certain runs.
It was messy, but it helped me keep track of everything.
The “A-HA!” Moment
After a while, I started to notice some patterns. Certain playbooks, even from teams that weren’t powerhouses, had some really unique and effective running plays. It wasn’t always about the team’s overall rating, it was about the specific plays in their book.
Building My Own Custom Playbook
Then it hit me – why not create my own custom playbook? So I jumped into the playbook editor and started pulling in the plays I had identified as the most effective.I spent a good chunk of time organizing it, making sure I had a good mix of inside runs, outside runs, and some options to keep the defense guessing.

Testing and Refining
Once I had my custom playbook, it was back to Play Now mode. I tested it against different teams, different defenses, and in different situations. I tweaked it, swapped out some plays, and kept refining it until I felt like I had a really solid running game. It’s pretty fun and works good so far!
It’s still a work in progress, of course, but that’s part of the fun! I’ll keep experimenting and see if I can make it even better. And I will share next time!
