Okay, so I decided to give the John Deere Classic Monday Qualifier a shot. I mean, why not? It’s a chance to get into a PGA Tour event, and I’ve been playing pretty well lately. So, I packed my bags, grabbed my clubs, and headed out.

Getting Ready
First things first, I had to register. It was a pretty simple process, just filled out some forms online and paid the entry fee. Nothing too crazy.
Then came the practice rounds. I wanted to get a feel for the course, figure out the greens, and just get comfortable. I played a couple of rounds, took some notes, and tried to visualize myself playing well during the qualifier.
The Day Of
Man, I was nervous. I woke up super early, couldn’t really eat much, just had some coffee and tried to stay calm. Got to the course, warmed up, and tried to keep my mind focused. My start was’nt great, I lost my tempo and the balls went everywhere.
The first few holes were a bit shaky. I was battling my nerves and not used to a tough course.
I just kept playing, tried to stay positive, and told myself to make good swings and hit the green.

My key all day was to keep the ball in play, I did a decent job of that, I kept playing.
I did my best on the back nine, and tried to salvage my round, but ended up shooting 6 over.
The Outcome
So, yeah, I didn’t make it. It was tough, and the competition was super strong. But I’m not gonna lie, it was an awesome experience. I got to play in a professional event, push myself, and see where my game stands. It’s definitely motivating me to keep practicing and get better. Made some good friends too.
- Register: Filled out forms, paid the fee.
- Practice: Played a couple of rounds, took notes.
- Qualifier Day: Warmed up, played my round.
- Result: Didn’t qualify, but gained valuable experience.
I’m not giving up. I’ll be back at it, working on my game, and hopefully, I’ll get another shot at a qualifier soon. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll make it! Gotta keep chasing that dream, right?
