Okay, so today I messed around with something called a “cyberpunk character generator.” I’ve been itching to get back into a cyberpunk-themed tabletop RPG, and I needed a quick way to whip up some cool characters. I didn’t want to spend hours crafting every detail, so I thought I’d see what tools were out there.

Finding the Generator
First, I fired up my browser and did a quick search. I just typed in “cyberpunk character generator” and poked around the results. There are the tools that came up, but I landed on one.
Using the Generator
The interface was pretty bare-bones, which is fine by me. I started clicking through the options. It had all the usual stuff:
- Roles: You know, like Netrunner, Techie, Solo, that kind of thing.
- Stats: The typical numbers game – Intelligence, Reflexes, Cool, etc.
- Skills: All the sneaky, shooty, and techy abilities.
- Cyberware: This is where it gets interesting! All sorts of chrome and implants.
- Gear: Weapons, armor, gadgets…the essentials.
I played around with the settings, randomizing some stuff and picking other options myself. I wanted a character with a bit of a tech focus, but still able to hold their own in a fight. So, I boosted the Intelligence and Tech stats, gave them some decent Reflexes, and picked out a few key skills like Hacking and Electronics.
Then came the fun part – cyberware! I added a neural interface, some boosted reflexes (gotta be quick!), and a datajack so they could plug into systems directly. I mean with this setting, there were things generated that you could try to add. It’s not a bad gig, so I just accepted the cyberware.
For gear, I kept it simple: a reliable pistol, some basic armor, and a few hacking tools. No need to go overboard, and I wanted it simple.

The Result
After a few minutes of tweaking, I had a character! It wasn’t super detailed, but it was more than enough to get started. The generator spit out a basic character sheet with all the key stats and gear. I saved the character sheet.
Honestly, it’s a great way to jumpstart the character creation process. I can always flesh out the details later, like backstory and personality. But for now, I have a solid foundation to work with. I might even use this for generating some NPCs (non-player characters) for my game, too. Saves a ton of time!
