Okay, so today I was kinda curious about something. I’m a huge Shohei Ohtani fan, you know, the baseball superstar? He’s amazing on the field, but I’ve always wondered: can Shohei Ohtani speak any English?
So, I started my little investigation. First, I jumped onto Google. It’s the obvious move, right?
I typed in “Shohei Ohtani English” and scrolled through a bunch of articles and videos.
My findings were:
- Most of the articles were saying that he mostly uses an interpreter. Makes sense, he’s busy being a baseball god!

After my digging, it’s pretty clear that while Ohtani might not be fluent, he definitely knows some English. He can handle basic interactions, and I even saw a clip of him joking around with teammates in English. It wasn’t perfect, but it was understandable!
Ultimately, I realized it doesn’t really matter if he’s fluent or not. He’s crushing it on the field, and that’s what really counts. Plus, having an interpreter ensures there are no misunderstandings when he’s talking to the media. But yeah, it’s cool to know he can speak some English. Go Shohei!
