Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at MLB The Show 23, and specifically, I wanted to really get a handle on the Ranked mode difficulty. Here’s how my experience went, from start to finish.
First, I jumped into a few casual online games. Just to get a feel for the game, you know? I wanted to see how other people were playing, what pitches they were throwing, their hitting approaches, all that stuff. I got my butt kicked a few times, but hey, that’s how you learn, right?
After feeling (somewhat) confident, I decided to take the plunge into Ranked. The first few games were a rollercoaster. I’d win one, lose two, win another, lose another… It was a total mixed bag. And it was frustrating because the difficulty felt like it was all over the place.
Figuring Out the Difficulty
- I noticed the game uses a dynamic difficulty system in Ranked. Basically, it adjusts based on your performance.
- If you’re winning a lot, the difficulty ramps up. You’ll start facing tougher opponents and the hitting/pitching gets harder.
- If You are keep losing the game, It will be easier.
So, I started paying close attention to the difficulty changes. I’d see it tick up after a win streak, and go down after a few losses. This helped me understand what to expect.
My strategy? Honestly, it was just to keep playing. The more I played, the better I got at recognizing pitches, timing my swings, and figuring out my opponents’ tendencies. And that’s way more important it is than worrying about the difficulty number.
I also spent some time in Practice mode, working on my hitting against different pitch types and speeds. It helped a lot to prepare me for what I’d see in Ranked.
It’s a constant grind. But I’m slowly getting better. That’s the whole point, right? To keep improving and climbing those ranks. So far, I find it is really a funny and good experience, I love it.
