Okay, so I got curious the other day about who the shortest center in the NBA is. It’s something I’ve wondered about, and I figured, why not just find out?
I started by just hitting up Google. You know, the usual “shortest NBA center” search. I figured that would probably give me a quick answer. I got a bunch of articles and forum posts, but nothing really concrete. It was all kind of scattered, with different names popping up.
So, I decided to dig a little deeper. I went to the official NBA website. I thought, “Okay, they’ve got to have player stats, right?” I found their player list and…man, it’s huge. I started scrolling, looking at the “position” column for centers, and then checking their height. It was a bit of a slog.

- Manually wrote it down on a piece of paper.
- No special tools, just good old-fashioned manual labor.

After going through what felt like a million player profiles, The shortest center playing now is not even close to being a center, I give up.
