Okay, so I’ve been a huge fan of the Joe Rogan Experience for years, like, seriously, I’ve probably listened to hundreds of episodes. And I’ve always been curious about the sponsors. Like, who are these companies? Do they actually pay a lot? Are the products any good? So, I decided to just dive in and try to figure this whole sponsorship thing out.
Figuring Out the Sponsors
First thing I did was simple: I started making a list. Every time I listened to an episode, I’d jot down the sponsors mentioned. It was a real mess at first, just a bunch of names scribbled in my notebook. Athletic Greens, those mushroom coffee guys, some underwear brand…you get the idea. After a few weeks, I had a pretty decent-sized list going.
Organizing the Mess
Next, I figured I needed some sort of system to organize this mess. So, I transferred all the names into a spreadsheet. I made different columns for the company name, the product they were selling, and any notes I had about them, like if they were a repeat sponsor or if Joe seemed particularly excited about them.
Digging Deeper
This is where things got interesting. I started looking up each company online. I wanted to see what they were all about, you know, beyond what Joe said in the ads. I checked out their websites, read reviews, and tried to get a feel for their whole vibe. It was kinda fun, actually. It felt like detective work almost!
- Athletic Greens: These guys are on the podcast all the time!
- Onnit: Turns out they’re pretty big in the nootropics space.
- Some Underwear Brand: I can’t remember the name, but Joe swears by them.
- Cash App: Seemed like a pretty standard money transfer app, nothing too special there.
Trying Out the Products
Now, I didn’t try out every single product, because, let’s be real, I’m not made of money. But I did try a few. I actually started using Athletic Greens for a while, and I gotta say, I did feel a bit more energized. I also got some stuff from Onnit. The Alpha Brain supplements didn’t do anything to me. But the MCT oil? I liked it. I started putting it in my coffee and it was good.
What I Learned
So, after all this, what did I learn? Well, for one, the sponsorship game on the Joe Rogan Experience is serious business. These companies are paying big bucks to get in front of his massive audience. And from what I can tell, it seems to work. I mean, I’m proof of that, right? I ended up trying some of these products because of the podcast.
Also, not all the sponsors are created equal. Some are definitely more legit than others. It’s worth doing your own research before you just buy something because Joe mentioned it. But overall, it was a fun little project. It made me appreciate the podcast even more, and it gave me a little peek behind the curtain of how this whole thing works.
I might keep updating my spreadsheet as I listen to more episodes. It’s kind of become a hobby now. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try out some more of the products. We’ll see!
