Alright, let’s talk about whether PGA 2K23 is cross-platform. I’ve been curious about this for a while, especially since I play on PC and a bunch of my buddies are on PlayStation and Xbox.
Digging into Cross-Platform Play
First thing I did was fire up the game on my PC. I poked around the menus, looking for any settings related to cross-platform play. Nothing jumped out at me right away. So, I hopped into a few online matches, hoping to stumble upon some clues. Played a couple of rounds, had some fun, but still no clear answers.
Next step was to hit up the internet. I checked out the official PGA 2K23 website, looking for any announcements or FAQs. I found some information, but it was a bit vague. They talked about cross-progression, which is cool, but I needed clarity on cross-platform play between different consoles.
The Research Continues
After that, I started browsing forums and gaming communities. Reddit, Steam forums, you name it, I was there, sifting through posts and comments. There was a lot of chatter about cross-platform, some folks saying it’s there, others saying it’s not. It was getting confusing, honestly.
I even reached out to a few friends who play the game on different systems. One plays on PS5, another on Xbox Series X. We decided to try and meet up in the game’s online lobbies, see if we could actually play together. No luck. We couldn’t find each other, no matter what we tried.
So, What’s the Verdict?
Based on my digging and experimenting, here’s the deal. It’s kind of a mixed bag.
- Cross-generation play within the same console family? That seems to be a go. So, PS4 players can play with PS5 players, and Xbox One players can play with Xbox Series X/S players.
- True cross-platform play between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox? Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be fully supported yet. At least, not in the way most of us hoped.
It is a bummer, for sure. It would be awesome to tee off with all my friends, regardless of what system they’re on. Maybe it’s something they’ll add in the future, who knows? For now, it looks like we’re stuck playing with folks on the same console family.
I’ll keep my ear to the ground and update if anything changes. But for now, that’s my experience with PGA 2K23 and its cross-platform situation. It’s not perfect, but hey, the game is still a blast to play.
