Okay, so, I saw this Paige Lorenze claw thing all over TikTok and I was like, I gotta try this. It looked so easy and chic, you know? So, I went and bought a claw clip, not the exact one, ’cause that one’s a bit pricey, but a similar one.
Getting Started
First, I brushed my hair to get all the knots out. My hair’s kinda thick, so this took a minute. I wanted to make sure it was all smooth and ready to go.
- Brushed my hair thoroughly.
- Made sure there were no tangles.
Twisting and Clipping
Then, I gathered all my hair like I was gonna do a low ponytail. I started twisting it upwards, which felt a bit awkward at first. I think I twisted it too tight the first time because it just didn’t look right.
- Gathered hair into a low ponytail position.
- Twisted hair upwards, a bit too tight at first.
I loosened it a bit and tried again. This time, I got it to lay flat against the back of my head. Once I got it twisted all the way up, I folded the end of my hair back down. That was the tricky part. I had to hold it in place while I grabbed the clip.
- Loosened the twist slightly.
- Folded the end of the twisted hair back down.
Securing the Look
I opened the claw clip and tried to clip it over the folded part and onto the twisted hair. This took a few tries. I couldn’t get all my hair in the clip at first, and it kept slipping out. Finally, I managed to get most of it in there. It felt pretty secure, but it wasn’t perfect.
- Opened the claw clip.
- Attempted to secure the twist with the clip.
- Finally got most of my hair clipped in.
Final Touches
I looked in the mirror, and honestly, it wasn’t bad! It wasn’t exactly like Paige Lorenze’s, but it was a cute, easy updo. I pulled a few pieces out in the front to frame my face, which I think helped. It definitely gave it that effortless vibe.
- Adjusted the hair to look more like the reference.
- Pulled out a few strands to frame the face.
I wore it out to get coffee, and it held up pretty well. It’s not something I’d wear to the gym, but for a casual day out, it’s perfect. I’m gonna keep practicing, ’cause I think I can get it even better. It’s all about finding the right twist and clip placement, you know? Anyway, it was a fun little experiment, and I’d say give it a try if you’re looking for a new hairstyle!
