So, I’ve been trying to get better at golf, specifically putting. It’s a real pain, honestly. I saw this thing called a “ball marker with level” and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First thing, I went ahead and got one of these markers. It’s basically a small, round thing you use to mark where your golf ball is on the green, but this one has a little bubble level built into it. Kinda like the ones carpenters use, but way smaller.
Next up, I took it out to the golf course. The idea is to place this marker behind your ball and check the bubble to see which way the green is sloping. Pretty straightforward, I thought.
Here’s how it went down:
- I placed the marker down, and that bubble started moving around like crazy. It took me a bit to get a good read on it.
- If the bubble went to the left, I figured the green sloped that way, so I should aim a bit to the right when putting.
- Same thing for the right side, just the opposite.
- And if the bubble was high, I’d have to hit the ball harder than usual. When it was low, you guessed it, hit it softer.
It actually did help a little. It’s not like I became a pro overnight or anything, but I started noticing the slopes on the green a lot better. Took me a few rounds to really get the hang of it, but once I did, it was kinda cool to see how much the ground actually moved.
I kept practicing with it, and I think my putting did improve somewhat. I mean, I wasn’t sinking every putt, but I definitely felt more confident reading the greens. It was kind of a fun little gadget to use, too. It became part of my little golf routine.
So yeah, that’s my experience with the ball marker level thingy. It’s not some magic tool that’ll instantly make you a putting god, but it can definitely help you understand the green better and maybe, just maybe, shave off a few strokes from your game. At least, that is what happened to me.
