Man, let me tell you about my recent deep dive into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Specifically, I got hooked on figuring out all the fish you can catch in February. It’s not as exciting as some other months, but hey, a completionist gotta complete, right?
So, I started by hitting up the internet, just to see what I was getting myself into. Turns out, there are like 80 fish in the whole game, which is a lot! But for February, at least in the Northern Hemisphere where I’m playing, there are only 31 to catch, and guess what? None of them are new this month! So it is a quiet month, but hey at least I got a head start.
I grabbed my fishing rod in the game and started making the rounds. I fished in the rivers, in ponds, and even out in the ocean. I mean, I was everywhere, casting my line all over the place, day and night! I needed to make sure every fish in February added to my collection. It actually took a few days, playing a little bit each day, but I finally managed to catch every single one of those 31 fish.
Here’s a little list of some of the fish I caught:
- Pond Smelt – These little guys were easy to catch in ponds, not too rare.
- Yellow Perch – Found these in rivers, pretty common as well.
- Sea Bass – Oh boy, these are everywhere in the sea, caught so many of them!
- Red Snapper – Also in the sea, a bit trickier to find, but I got a few.
- Dab – Another sea fish, not as common as the sea bass, but still managed to catch a couple.
It felt pretty good to fill out that section of my Critterpedia. Even though none of the fish were new in February, it was still satisfying to check them all off my list. Now I’m all prepped for March, and hopefully, there will be some new fish to discover then. This fishing adventure in Animal Crossing is way more addictive than I thought it would be!
Catching all those fish wasn’t just about ticking boxes, though. I learned a lot about the different types of fish, their habitats, and the best times to catch them. It’s like I became a bit of a virtual fishing expert. I’ve even started to recognize the shadows in the water and can guess what kind of fish it might be! That is such an achievement!
So yeah, that was my February fishing saga in Animal Crossing. Maybe not the most thrilling tale, but hey, it was a good time for me. Plus, it’s all about those small victories, right? Now, onto the next challenge… March!
