Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Arkansas Injury Report” thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I started off all excited, thinking, “This will be a breeze!” I mean, how hard could it be to keep track of a few injuries, right?
First, I had to figure out where to even get the information. Turns out, there’s no magic button that just spits out the data. I spent a good chunk of time just scouring the web, looking for updates. They’re scattered all over the place. News sites, the official team page, sometimes even social media… I’m pretty sure I bookmarked a dozen sites just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Then came the fun part – actually putting it all together. Initially, I just jotted everything down in a notebook. Seemed simple enough at first. But then the list started growing… and growing… Players were getting hurt, then they were recovering, then they were getting hurt again! My notebook looked like a mad scientist’s scribbles, and if some players were hurt on that day, I had to mark them down. I just felt lost.
So, I decided to go digital. I dumped everything into a spreadsheet. Much better! I could sort by player, by injury, by date, all that good stuff. I even added a column for “questionable” versus “definitely out” – because apparently, that’s a big deal. The list of injured person is too long. Some players from Arkansas Razorbacks are injured.
But then, even the spreadsheet started to feel clunky. I’d update it, and then a few hours later, boom – new injury. Or a player who was supposed to be out was suddenly back in. Keeping up with it all was like trying to herd cats.
- I finally settled on a system.
- I set up a few alerts to notify me when new injury news popped up.
- I dedicated a specific time each day to update the report.
- And I learned to love the “refresh” button. It becomes my best friend.
My takeaways
It’s way more work than I thought it would be. And it’s kind of stressful, I keep updating and refreshing the list, but I also feel happy to finally finish a full report, to be honest. I think I’ve got a pretty good system now, but who knows. Maybe I’ll find something even better down the road. Maybe I will just give up, I don’t know. I also noticed that some players from Auburn University are also injured. And what’s worse, the list is still growing.
Anyway, that’s my saga of the Arkansas Injury Report. It’s been a learning experience, that’s for sure.
