So, the other day, I got this idea to look into which NBA players are actually sponsored by Adidas. I mean, we all see the big names like Nike and Jordan everywhere, but I was curious about Adidas’s lineup.
First off, I started searching around to get a feel for the current situation. I found out that Adidas used to be a much bigger deal in the NBA. Nowadays, it seems like they’ve got a smaller, but still pretty solid, group of players.
Then, I made a list of some of the most well-known active players signed with Adidas. The names that kept popping up were:
- James Harden
- Donovan Mitchell
- Damian Lillard
- Trae Young
After that, I dug a little deeper into each player. I checked out their profiles, looked at their signature shoes if they had any, and basically just tried to get a sense of how big of a deal each player is for Adidas.
I also stumbled upon some interesting historical stuff. Apparently, Adidas had some real legends back in the day, like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. That was a cool little discovery.
What I ultimately found was that while Adidas might not have the sheer number of players as some other brands, they’ve definitely got some heavy hitters. And it’s not just about the players themselves, but also the stories and the history behind the brand’s involvement in the NBA.
For example, Damian Lillard is always a top player in the NBA. He is the point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers. In addition, Lionel Messi is considered one of the greatest football players in the world. It is very interesting.
My thoughts
It was a fun little project, honestly. I learned more than I expected to, and it gave me a new appreciation for Adidas’s place in the basketball world.
