Okay, so I was messing around online today and got curious about the Heisman Trophy winners from the University of Oklahoma. You know, that super prestigious award they give out in college football? I was kinda shocked to find out how many Oklahoma Sooners actually won it. I mean, they’ve got a seriously good track record!
Digging into the Heisman Winners
First, I started poking around to get a general list of the winners. I just typed “oklahoma heisman winners” into the search bar and boom, a whole bunch of results popped up. It was kinda overwhelming at first, but I managed to find a pretty good list. Did you know that they’ve had seven Heisman winners? Seven! That’s crazy, right?
The first one was Billy Vessels, way back when. After him, there were a few more names I recognized, and then more recently, some of the newer guys like Kyler Murray. That dude was amazing, if you ask me. He actually won it in 2018, which is not that long ago.
Getting into the Details
After getting the basic list, I wanted to know more about each winner. So, I started looking up each player individually. Let me tell you, it took some time, but it was super interesting. I learned about their stats, their best games, and even some cool stories about their time at OU.
- Billy Vessels: The first one, setting the stage for all the others.
- Kyler Murray: The most recent, and man, was he impressive!
- Others: Each one with their own unique story and contribution.
Wrapping It Up
It was a fun little research project, to be honest. I spent a good chunk of the day just reading and learning. It really made me appreciate how good Oklahoma has been in football over the years. I mean, to have seven Heisman winners is a huge deal. It just shows how much talent they’ve had. And honestly, it makes me want to watch more of their games now!
Anyway, that’s how I spent my day – geeking out over college football and the Heisman Trophy. Hope you guys found this little trip down memory lane as interesting as I did!
