Okay, so, I’ve been playing fantasy football for a few years now, and this season I drafted Justin Jefferson. I mean, who wouldn’t? The guy’s a beast! But things got a bit tricky.
So, a few weeks back, Jefferson got put on IR. At least four weeks out! My fantasy team took a nosedive. I started scrambling, checking out what other people were saying online, what the so-called experts were suggesting. It was a mess. I felt like I was back at square one, totally lost.
I spent hours on this. Seriously, hours. I looked at trade value charts, read articles, and watched some videos. It became a bit of an obsession. I needed to figure out what to do with Jefferson on my roster.
My Options
There were basically two paths I could go down:
- Trade him: Try to get some value back, maybe a couple of decent players or one really good one to fill the gap.
- Hold him: Wait it out, hoping he comes back strong and carries my team to the playoffs.
I started sending out trade offers like crazy. I’m talking to everyone in my league, trying to see what I could get. Some of the offers I got back were insulting, to be honest. People trying to lowball me because they knew I was in a tough spot. I get it, but come on!
Then there was the whole waiver wire thing. I was looking at who was available, trying to find someone who could at least give me some points while Jefferson was out. It was slim pickings, let me tell you. But I did manage to snag a couple of guys who ended up doing okay.
After all this back and forth, all these trade talks and waiver wire moves, I finally made a decision. I decided to hold onto Jefferson. It was a risk, no doubt. But I believed in him. I figured if he could come back and play like he did before the injury, it would be worth it.
So now I’m just waiting. It’s been a rollercoaster, that’s for sure. But I think, in the end, I made the best decision I could. Whether or not it pays off, we’ll just have to see. That’s fantasy football for you, right? Always keeping you on your toes!
